Bibi: Why I’m speaking to Congress
nypost.com ^ | 2/18/15 | Benjamin Netanyahu

Posted on 02/19/2015 6:39:36 AM PST by cotton1706

Excerpted from the Israeli prime minister’s remarks Monday in Jerusalem to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

Why am I going to Washington? Because, as prime minister of Israel, it’s my obligation to do everything in my power to prevent the conclusion of a bad deal that could threaten the survival of the State of Israel.

The current proposal to Iran would endanger Israel. It would enable Iran to build its first nuclear device within an unacceptably short time. And it would allow Iran to build an industrial capability to enrich uranium that could provide the fuel for many bombs in the coming years.

A regime that openly calls for Israel’s destruction would thus have finally the means to realize its genocidal aims.

Now mind you, I’m not opposed to any deal with Iran. I’m opposed to a bad deal with Iran. And I believe this is a very bad deal.

I’m certainly not opposed to negotiations. On the contrary: No country has a greater stake in the peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear question than does Israel.

But the current proposal won’t solve the problem. It will perpetuate and aggravate the problem. It would provide a path for Iran to become a nuclear power. And so it’s very important that I speak about this in Washington.

Why am I going to Congress? Because Israel has been offered the chance to make its case on this crucial issue before the world’s most important parliament; because a speech before Congress allows Israel to present its position to the elected representatives of the American people and to a worldwide audience; because Congress has played a critical role in applying pressure to the Iranian regime

Bibi comes to Washington. Why does this remind me of Haile Selassie adressing the League of Nations back in the thirties?

His address will be a refreshing breeze of reality from the circus act that is the current administration.

Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious spring by this son of Israel.

Personally, I hope he is doing this to enlighten Jews in this country that Obama is a Muslim who wants the last place on earth in which they could eventually seek sanctuary (if needed) to be disestablished and overrun by Muslims.

“His address will be a refreshing breeze of reality from the circus act that is the current administration.”

And this current do-nothing timid Republican Congress.

Netanyahu’s speech has the potential to galvanize the West’s understanding and reaction to the existential threat of Islamic jihadism the way Churchill’s 1946 Missouri “iron curtain” speech stiffened the free world’s resistance to communism. The godless Left could not stop Churchill but are doing all they can to demonize, demean and defeat Netanyahu. The Left at its core despises Western culture and would gladly use Islam to destroy it.

Why BHarf keeps harping on jobs with zero right now is puzzling when they know Net is going to make utter (further) laughingstocks out of them in two weeks.

Americans are starving for leadership on IS and jihad right now, and will align with and support leaders who speak the truth and inspire hope for the extinction of IS and AQ. Zero’s too situationally stupid to see his tantrums will create greater respect for Net and more distrust and disdain for him.

Netanyahu is speaking too many truths for Obama’s administration or the Eurozone to accept what he is saying.
That is why there is a MAJOR campaign to topple his electoral chances in Israel.
Forces have combined to drag his name, reputation and ability to govern through the mud and wringer at the same time.
Iran knows how to manipulate, promise, lie, reposition and negotiate 3 billion times better than the US, Europe and the free world (what's left of it) combined. The Iranians are using the North Korean model to get the bomb.

Only Netanyahu is speaking the truth. What amazes me is the the US State Dept. sent one Wendy Sherman (Jewish) to negotiate with Iran regarding this critical issue. Yet, this same Wendy Sherman completely failed in her negotiations about the North Korean bomb. She failed then, was appointed to lead the current team and will fail here as well.

Oh well, Netanyahu will have a Jew to blame for putting Israel within nuclear striking distance...

Haile Selassie addressed the League of Nations when Mussolini invaded Ethiopia, & the League did nothing.

Better IMO to compare Netanyahu’s upcoming speech to Churchill’s Iron Curtain speech in 1946. That was a game changer. And Bibi is going to fire a shot heard round the world.

Of course, Churchill didn’t have to worry about boycotts, badmouthing, Rachel Madcow, & the CBC.

” Personally, I hope he is doing this to enlighten Jews in this country that Obama is a Muslim “

This alone would make the trip worthwhile. But Bibi knows that Obama is trying like hell to give Iran the bomb. O should be undergoing impeachment proceedings here right now.

It is the fervent hope of free and decent people everywhere that a clarion leader such as Netanyahu will awaken, inspire. and lead the West away from the delusions and disastrous policies of the Obama international Left. There is such a dearth of real Western leadership that Netanyahu’s historic role goes far beyond that of Israel’s Prime Minister. This speech before Congress is important.

The fact that Israeli elections are coming up very soon is not unrelated to why Netanyahu is coming to speak before Congress.

I wish his supporters would come out in droves when he gives his speech. I’m sure his detractors will. Prayers for his safety.
