This is a truly sad report. Rove wastes money and others manipulate us just to enrich themselves.

What better reason that to give to FREE REPUBLIC!

All I know is that the Liberals spent a LOT of money in 2014 and got their butts kicked on election day.

To my mind, most of these records if true are completely reprehensible, bordering on near fraud, actually. With the exception of CFG who I think is legitimately conservative and not GOPe related, they are pitiful records.

I had suspicions about Jenny Beth Martin and the TPP here in Georgia and was rightly so.

There was a thread yesterday from someone asking what to do about donations to ‘tea party whatevers’. My advice was to put the money into individual campaigns and bypass them altogether.

I need a little clarification. So, the Total Spent is the amount of money raised that went “out” for whatever reason or expense, and Independent Expenditures & Direct Contributions is the amount that actually went to a candidate’s campaign? Am I understanding correctly?

Summary

How many conservative candidates lost in 2014 because of a lack of funds? How many of them came up short in primaries, lost winnable seats or desperately tried to fight off better-funded challengers? How much of a difference would another 50 million dollars have made last year? That’s a very relevant question because the 10 PACs at the bottom of this list spent $54,318,498 and only paid out $3,621,896 to help get Republicans elected. If that same $54,318,498 had gone to the Club for Growth Action PAC and it had been as efficient with it as it was with the money it had, $47,800,278 would have gone to Republican candidates instead of the meager $3,621,896 that those candidates received from those 10 PACs during this cycle. The conservative movement has a right to expect more than this from the PACs that are representing it.

did you know that despite the fact that it raised a staggering 13 million dollars, The National Draft Ben Carson for President isn’t affiliated with Ben Carson and the small percentage of money it spent on independent expenditures didn’t go to him?

So where did it go?

Looks like you beat me to the post of this article while I was formatting mine! I have asked the mod to delete my post.

Personally, I am relieved to see my choices of Club for Growth and individual candidates only vindicated.

My first rule is, "If they repeatedly buy lots of airtime on Fox News, they are probably scammers."

I can well believe this type of thing is difficult to trace.

Regarding the Senate Conservatives Fund, which I contribute to because I trust them to get the money to conservatives (unlike the RNC), in a 10/7/2014 posting they (the SCF) said:

“When you contribute to a candidate through SCF, 100% of your donation goes directly to that candidate’s campaign. SCF even pays the credit card processing fee so every penny of your donation goes to the candidate.

“SCF has already raised over $4 million directly for our endorsed candidates this election cycle and we’ve spent over $5 million on independent expenditures promoting their conservative campaigns.”

If those statements are true, that would be a total of $9 million as of October 7, 2014, not the $3,682,841 shown on the chart. (And the 10/7/2014 figures does not count was was spent by the SCF between that date and the general election date in November.) In addition, as noted in the original article, the SCF spent additional monies ($2,735,267) for non-candidate issue ad spending.

As always, trust but verify.

I wonder if money is being stockpiled for 2016? I'd need to have more info before I can determine if the Tea Party PAC’s are really a ripoff.

Imagine the shenanigans the Clintons and their fellow travelers commit with all their fundraising.

Donating to one of these “funds” never made sense to me. By necessity, every org that money flows through is going to take a cut - even if just to cover their operating costs. Consider the best of the best with the highest percentage of fund flowing through to candidates: They still take a cut, albeit a *fair & reasonable* cut.

So, why would I want my money watered down when I can give it directly to the candidate and he can get full use of it? I mean, it’s just as easy to donate direct to a candidate than it is to a PAC or whatever, so why give a dime to a PAC? Maybe I’m missing something...

It;s so sad to see some of the ‘leaders’ of these groups spouting off in the papers and TV like they are actually the head of a organization that means anything.
