Boehner on DHS Funding: 'It's Up to Senate Democrats to Get Their Act Together'
Fox News ^ | February 15, 2015 | FoxNews Insider

"The Constitution makes it pretty clear that the House has to do its work and the Senate has to do their's," Boehner said. "The House has acted to fund the department and to stop the president's overreach when it comes to immigration and his executive orders."

Wallace pointed out that Republicans, however, don't have the 60 votes to pass the bill through the Senate.

Boehner replied that Senate Democrats are blocking the ability to even debate the bill.

"The House has acted. We’ve done our job. Senate Democrats are the ones putting us in this precarious position. And it’s up to Senate Democrats to get their act together," Boehner said.

What if Congress can't come to an agreement and funding for the DHS runs out? Wallace asked.

"Well, then Senate Democrats should be to blame," Boehner said.

Subsequently, the fifth-column media mantra, sung in three-part harmony by Chris Wallace, George Will, and other Fox panelists, blamed the Republicans.

Let’s remember, George Will was one of the “conservatives” who dined with Obola shortly after the 2008 election and, by so doing, legitimized Obola.

Remember back in the first two years of Obama’s first term, when the Democrats had complete control of the government, and then lost their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate? All the Democrats could talk about was “filibuster reform.”

It is time for the Senate Republicans to take up the mantra of filibuster reform.

1. Immediately reinstate the filibuster for judicial appointments. Lifetime judicial appointments are far too important for a simple majority to approve.

2. For legislation, require good old fashioned Mr. Smith Goes to Washington style talk-until-you-drop filibusters. If Democrats want to obstruct legislation from being voted on then they can make a spectacle of themselves rambling on for hours and peeing in adult diapers until they drop, then the Senate can vote.

Sure Obama will veto nearly everything that passes. So let his legacy be that he spent the last two years of his reign vetoing legislation.

It doesn’t matter that someday (maybe in 2016) the Democrats will retake control of the Senate and the Republicans will be in the minority. Reid has already established that when that happens the Democrats will do whatever they want without regard to what the Republicans did when they were in control.

It is time to steamroll the Democrats.

Kind of looks like Boehner is tired of being the poster child for GOP incompetence. I still believe they will capitulate, the infighting is growing, and they are coming apart as usual, but I think Boehner is going to make McConnell share the blame.

According to George Will, the House bill would only be good legisation if it could be approved by Senate Democrats and the White House.

Since the House bill funded necessary activities and restrained an evil tyrant, making it unacceptable to (traitorous) Senate Demonicrats, it’s all the fault of House Republicans... in the opinion of George Will and Chris Wallace.

It would have been great to hear Boehner accuse the Senate Demonicrats’ obstruction of providing aid and comfort to the enemy, and denonounce Chris Wallace for condoning that obstruction.

The Republicans need to make this the issue every single day. People should be asking Dems who are up for re-election in 2016 if they are in favor of Obama’s amnesty and the other issues that the Dems in the Senate will be blocking. Get the Dems on videotape so they can be shown on YouTube to be going against the public’s wishes. Make the Dems pay a price.

George Will is a fraud, a RINO, K Street “conservative” who’s more interested in being at the top of the “To Invite” lists to all of DC’s top parties. He’s not a fighter for the conservative cause.

Bonehead, how can it be up to the Senate when the Republicans control the Senate. I’ll tell you why. Too damn many communists Republicans blocking passing anything. Looks like we won nothing as far as the Senate.

I thought revenue bills originating in the Congress couldn’t be filibustered but required only an up or down vote in the Sinate. Am I wrong?

Why not say something like, “we have completely funded Homeland Security to operate without interruption - without cuts of any kind. We have not funded a new spending priority of the president’s that had never before received authorization, even under democrats. If the president wants additional spending authorization, he should present his proposal to Congress. The president is preparing to place american citizens in peril to advance new spending that benefits people who are not here lawfully.”

Please God, just this once give Speaker Boehner the courage to stand strong, Amen

and Amen again.

and give McConnell the courage to change the rules of the Senate so Republicans win every battle, every vote.

Fight damnit, fight dirty when need be, and always fight to win.

Roll over the Democrats, defeat them, destroy them.

Save our Republic.

Amen.

“Sure Obama will veto nearly everything that passes. So let his legacy be that he spent the last two years of his reign vetoing legislation.”

I agree with your suggestions but I do not see what this will accomplish. Instead of the media blaming the republicans for failing to pass a bill that senate democrats can vote for, they will blame the republicans for failing to pass a bill Obama can sign.
