I'm pleased to see that the Southern Poverty Law Center has come to its senses and apologized to Dr. Ben Carson, removing him from their "extremist" list. But they need to apologize to me too, since I'm still on their list, along with a number of other Christian leaders whom they have branded anti-gay extremists.
To be sure, I have considered it a badge of honor to be on the SPLC's list, actually writing an article in 2012 thanking them for placing me in their elite category of "30 New Activists Heading Up the Radical Right."
Several years ago, I received a letter from Mark Potok, spokesman and director of the SPLC, offering to enlighten me in the error of my ways if I, along with others receiving the letter, had been duped by various pro-family organizations.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....if, that’s IF in capital letters one isn’t an extremist in the eyes of the SPLC, then I don’t want anything to do with them as a candidate.
SPLC has defined holding an opinion that they have not approved to be a hate crime. They need to expalain what it is about Dr Carson’s skin color that make his opinion not a hate crime.
The SPLC is a hive of domestic terrorists.
Find out who funds them and have the IRS give those folks the same treatment TEA Party/Conservative groups received.
SPLC didn’t issue any real apology to Carson, they obfuscated into another attack.
Their funding is well known.
And far from being classed as terrorists - which they are, but their real expertise is subversion - the FBI uses them routinely as a source, although recently thats changed...supposedly.
SPLC routinely smears people with legally actionable terms like calling them Hate criminals or organizations, which the government then acts on.
Simply because they dont agree with far left extremist ideas that the SPLC espouses.
So thats the real question - why does the government use their slander and lies to arrest and destroy people? When did the FBI become the enforcement arm of the Socialists?

I was fascinated to find that the current FBI director actually signed an Amicus Curiae brief in favor of queer marriage in Hollingsworth v. Perry.
Rather amazing that such a man - a far left zealot and partisan - is supposedly an impartial officer of the law, heading up a police organization which operates both nationally and internationally, with a 10 year tenure to his term.
Just amazing.
Yeah, this guy is bad news. The TRUE irony is that when I was a kid, this FBI director would likely be investigated by the old one for subversive activity!
*THESE* days? They've been such ever since their inception. What *has* changed, however, are the ones 'holding their leash' so to speak. Half a century ago, those opposed to Marxism/Leninism held the leash, now supporters of same hold the leash.
But the nature of the beast on the other end of the leash didn't change at all...
