An Alabama federal judge on Thursday ordered the state’s second-largest county to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, paving the way for other holdout parts of the state to fall in line.
The ruling from U.S. District Judge Callie V.S. Granade was directed at Don Davis, probate judge of Mobile County, the most populous of several dozen Alabama counties that had not complied with a same-sex marriage ruling that took effect on Monday. Granade’s decision may convince other probate judges to no longer heed an order from Alabama Chief Justice Roy S. Moore to continue refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses.
"Probate Judge Don Davis is hereby enjoined from refusing to issue marriage licenses to plaintiffs due to the Alabama laws which prohibit same-sex marriage," Granade wrote.
More than 40 of Alabama’s 67 counties were withholding same-sex marriage licenses before Granade’s decision on Thursday. Three-fifths of the holdouts had stopped issuing any marriage licenses and two-fifths were only issuing licenses to opposite-sex couples, according to the nonprofit Human Rights Campaign.

The county probate judges should simply refuse and point out to her that she has no such power.

What is the point of the 10th amendment or even having state judges when a Federal judge just orders the state judges decision to be invalid.
Do we have any lawyers which can actually win a case on this issue because they seem to be not mentioning about where in the Constitution does it state marriage is a right and what about the 10th amendment. So every time a the left imposes their agenda they invoke the 14th when it clearly was not designed for homosexuality.

I’m sorry, your honor, but like you, I am unable to write laws in the state of Alabama. You are more than welcome to address your concerns to the state legislature through your local representative, who will of course take all appropriate action as a member of the legislature who writes the laws. Any attempt to compel me to take actions for which there are no current laws written to handle will be ignored, and any punitive action will be fought aggressively in court, including the constitutional questions as to exactly who writes and follows laws in the state of Alabama.
That pretty much sums it up.
It’s also why I no longer care about ISIS, Putin, China, or any other outside adversaries. The enemy is HERE, within our borders. I would agree , but having lived up north for work then I have to disagree. There are million in the northeast who claim they are Catholic or Christians and yet vote for this lunacy.
