“In 2009, a staff member for former Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) spoke about the possibility of the FCC passing regulations that would affect sites like Drudge.

“Does one heavily trafficked Internet site present one side of an issue and not link to sites that present alternative views?” the staff member asked. “These are some of the questions [Waxman] is thinking about right now,”

Drudge just links to other news sites and changes up the headline.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) is holding a hearing today to receive public feedback on whether it should create new rules regulating political speech...

And I would bet a doughnut that the FEC will try to get the IRS involved in this.

LOL! Like words on paper will stop these bastards.

Actually, when someone bothers to fight, they do. The SCOTUS tends to err in the direction of anything goes. It’s how they trashed eminent domain. They allowed an activity. It’s how they trash marriage, by allowing homosexual marriage.

I don’t see how they can control internet speech since it is the modern equivalent of the book or letter - or town square.

Let me put it another way:

If they DO limit speech in this way, that will be the least of our problems. It will be all to clear in what kind of regime we live, and we will be forced to act accordingly or become true sheep led to the slaughter.

That is a hint at why I have not had health care insurance since January 1, 2014. It was my red line against overt fascism. I simply will not bend to that one, regardless of the cost. “Give me liberty or give me death.”

That idea will NEVER make it on the first court challenge because it directly violates the Free Speech provision of the First Amendment.

That's why we need to see the full 332-page Internet neutrality proposal that the FCC wants to pass. If ANY part of that proposal allows the Federal government to determine what is legal online, the rule will be shot down immediately by the courts.

Violates first amendment.

There is no longer a first amendment. Lost it years ago. It is just that our communists controlled Federal Government has not crushed it yet and they can. Nothing to stop them.

I’m pretty negative, but I think that they can’t crush it as easy as many think.

There is the concept of a bridge too far, as well as trying to boil a frog alive but turning up the heat to fast.

And I think that is what is actually happening right now. I think it’s caused by obama realizing his time is short and he has too much to do in such a short time. The gloves will come off.

Sadly for him, wo will most people’s blinders. But it’s one reason for my tag line. It will not be pleasant.

Well, like Clinton, it would take a congress with a spine to get rid of him and he has the hubris to force their hand. But yeah, he may try even more than his two terms. If that happens, he will be the least of our problems.
