resident Barack Obama inserted a jarring note in his speech to the annual Prayer Breakfast by insulting Christians with an inappropriate reference to the Crusades and charging that people "committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ."
He ignited a firestorm by comparing the ISIS outrages to medieval history of a thousand years ago. By drawing such simplistic analogies, it sounded like he was trying to excuse or whitewash the recent acts of Islamic terrorism, including the beheading and incinerating of hostages.
Obama didn't acknowledge that it was Muslim aggression that prompted the first Crusade. There would not have been any motivation for the Crusades if Muslims had not been attacking Christian pilgrims who were traveling to the Holy Land for peaceful prayer and worship.
Obama's insults to Christians weren't any slip of the tongue. His aides confirmed that his words were deliberately chosen.
Deputy press secretary Eric Schultz said that Americans "need to be honest with ourselves." The problem with Obama is that he needs to be honest with the fact that Islam is at war with us, and he just won't admit it.
"Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ."
The Crusades were 800 to 900 years ago; the Inquisition was 500 to 600 years ago; and slavery in the United States ended 150 years ago. Even Jim Crow, which means not letting blacks and whites eat at the same lunch counter, ended 50 years ago.
Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore called Obama's remarks "the most offensive I've ever heard a president make." Gilmore charged that Obama "has offended every believing Christian in the United States."
In the first week of February, the Islamic State released a video showing a Jordanian pilot being burned alive in a steel cage. The next day, the United Nations issued a report describing horrific details of the Islamic State's "mass executions of boys, as well as reports of beheadings, crucifixions of children and burying children alive."
And the next day after that, President Obama publicly and deliberately criticized the "terrible deeds" committed "in the name of Christ." Quite a week, wasn't it?
Obama presumed to lecture us how to react to Islamic atrocities. He urged us to get off "our high horse" and "remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ" and "justified" slavery and Jim Crow "in the name of Christ."
It makes no sense to try to downplay the horrific act of burning someone alive in a steel cage by analogizing it to other conduct that Americans rejected long ago. But that's how he is trying to excuse, or at least minimize, ISIS atrocities.
According to Bernard Lewis, a reliable historian of Islam, the Crusades were an attempt to recover territories that had been taken from the Christians by the Muslims. The crusaders risked their lives to save Christian people and regain Christian lands that the Muslims had stolen.
The Spanish Inquisition killed a couple of thousand people in the aftermath of a war to drive out Muslim invaders 500 years ago. That's fewer than the number put to death by Muslim killers today in only a few months.
Speaking on the Fox News Channel last week, the African-American Bishop E. W. Jackson called out the president: "Sir, you just gave them a gigantic propaganda tool. They called us Crusaders, and you've just confirmed it. ... He's basically justified exactly what Osama bin Laden was saying."
Continuing, Bishop Jackson said: "Mr. President, we're not on our 'high horse.' What we are on is high alert, and the American people would like for once to know that you're willing to defend Christianity and defend America instead of defending Islam."
Bishop Jackson, who served in the Marine Corps and earned a law degree from Harvard Law School before entering the ministry, concluded that "this president does everything he possibly can to defend Islam and does almost nothing to defend the honor of this country. And yes, once again he's giving them exactly what they want. And they're laughing at us, because they see it as a sign of weakness."
Christianity is not the problem today, and Jim Crow's not around anymore. Islamic Jihad, and its political manifestation in Sharia law, is the present-day threat to individual and civil liberties all over the world.

I just spoke about Obama and the Crusades on the Jeff Khuner talkshow. Jeff Khuner was a professor who also took a logic class and he had some very interesting things to say. He knew the details of the Muslim depredations leading up to the Crusades that I didn’t know.
Lately the photos of Obama are becoming as if he has morphed into a terrorist - his eyes are eerily like those of the terrorists. He looks angry and determined to do things his way. And the look is certainly not that of a Christian, which he still claims to be.
Oh, I wonder where his baptismal certificate is?

The Byzantine Empire had been fighting for its life ever since the Arabs emerged out of Arabia. The Christians in Spain had been at war with the Muslims since 711. Charlemagne invaded Spain to fight the Muslims.
There were some atrocities committed during the Crusades (killings of Jews in the Rhineland, massacre of inhabitants in Jerusalem when it was captured) but they pale in comparison to the slaughters committed by those seeking to expand the territories ruled by Islam.

In a recent interview on CBN News, Andrew White, an Anglican priest known as the “Vicar of Baghdad,” tried to recount the horrific atrocities Christians in Iraq are suffering at the hands of the Islamic State. After explaining how Christian minorities fled Baghdad to Ninevah when Islamic militants began terrorizing them and bombing their churches, White said:
Then one day, ISIS, the Islamic State, the Islamic caliphate came [to Ninevah] and they hounded all of them [Christians] out. Not some, all of them. And they killed huge numbers. They chopped their children in half; they chopped their heads off.
It should be noted that the targeting of Christian children in Iraq goes back years before the creation of ISIS. For example, in June 2008, a Canadian parliamentary committee heard about how “militant Muslims” were crucifying Christian children: “Since the war began in 2003, about 12 children, many as young as 10, have been kidnapped and killed, then nailed to makeshift crosses near their homes to terrify and torment their parents.”
During his interview, White offered the following, likely surreal to Western sensibilities, anecdote:
ISIS turned up and they said to the [Christian] children, “You say the words [shehada, convert to Islam], that you will follow Muhammad.” And the children, all under 15, four of them, they said, “No, we love Jesus [Yesua]. We have always loved Jesus. We have always followed Jesus. Jesus has always been with us.” They [ISIS] said, “Say the words!” They [children] said, “No, we can’t.” [White starts sobbing] They chopped all their heads off. How do you respond to that? You just cry.
They’re my children. That is what we have been going through. That is what we are going through.
As callous as it is to say, perhaps these faithful children are better off. After all, ISIS members have been known to compel Christians to convert to Islam, and still cruelly hack their heads off—thus damning them twice.
Similarly, in one of his Facebook postings, White wrote:
Today’s Pictures are too awful to show. You know I love to show photos but the photo I was sent today was the most awful I have ever seen. A family of 8 all shot through the face laying in a pool of blood with their Bible open on the couch. They would not convert it cost them their life.
During his CBN interview, White also told of how ISIS members came to a Christian man saying, “Either you convert to Islam or we kill all your children.” The desperate father declared the words, the shehada, that “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah,” thus becoming a Muslim. Contrite at heart, he phoned White crying, “Abouna, abouna [father, father] I said the words! Does that mean Jesus doesn’t love me anymore? I’ve always loved Jesus but I said those words because I couldn’t see my children being killed!”
White responded: “No Elias, Jesus still loves you—he will always love you.”
The two types of anecdotes offered by White—Christians refusing to embrace Islam and dying for it, and Christians embracing Islam under duress—are an integral part of how the “Islamic world,” the majority of which was almost entirely Christian before the Islamic conquests, came into being: a historic fact Western people were once well acquainted with, before the current age of political correctness and alternate realities.

We, the People, top to bottom, all over the map---elected people who moreoless agree with us (and despise Obama). We now control both Houses of Congress, unified state control of Governorships and legislatures in some 30 sovereign states, governorships in Florida, Tx, Ill, Ohio, Mich, MD, Wisconsin, NC, GA, Mass. We ousted 30 lock-stepping Obamacrats who voted for the ACA.
Rejection of Obama could not have been more decisive. Any normal elected official would know he has been made irrelevant. But.....jihadist Obama still has the remaining dark months of his tenure to do damage.
