It sounds a lot like the incident with the former University of Nebraska basketball player who faked a similar incident a few years ago. She has violated the terms of her probation by ignoring all of the requirements and is now facing real jail time. They had all kinds of rallies and marches for her even though the police were indicating that the evidence appeared to be weak. No apologies for the remarks her supporters made after she admitted it was faked.

Is that guy speaking for his sister? How do they know the attacker was a male? appearing to be male doesn’t guarantee it. wasn’t there a situation in Oklahoma recently where a basket ball playing lesbian had anti-gay slogans sprayed on her garage door? Who did the perp turn out to be?

The one part of the report that is not consistent with hoax is the description as the perp being “possibly hispanic.”

The typical homophobia hoax would have the attacker being white.

I find this story to be totally believable. If I was in fear for my life, the first thing I would do is get my undisguised face/voice on TV, specify my home town, and not object to the TV crews showing the location of the attack, on the evening news./S
