Just one-third of Americans say they are satisfied with the country's policies on abortion, the lowest rate in more than a decade, according to a new poll.
Approval among Republicans has plummeted to 21 percent this year, compared to Democratic approval which has hovered around 46 percent for several years, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.
The percent of Republicans who dislike the country's abortion policies has steadily dropped under President Barack Obama, falling from a high of 44 percent approval rating under President George W. Bush.
While abortion has largely stayed off Congress' agenda under Obama, abortion has played an increasing role in the state legislatures since the GOP sweep in the 2010 midterms. Several states, like Texas, Tennessee and Louisiana, are now facing court battles over their new, far stricter laws.

oh. now I see. I was wondering why the cops were involved.
Unfortunately, a lot of the ones who are “unsatisfied” want taxpayer funded free abortion on demand through birth (or later).
A lot of credit for this goes to the pro-life movement. They have done an excellent job of getting Americans to face the truth.
How many abortion police are there, anyway?
I’ll bet you do the typso on purpose, Jim!
When people understand what our actual law on abortion is - kill any baby, any time, for any reason - a significant majority oppose it, even those who describe themselves as “pro-choice.”
“typso” was on purpose, right?
Yes. “Typso” is a FReepism that means “keyboarding errors that amuse us.” It originated on the North Carolina forum.
With auto-correct so prevalent, we don’t have the same kind of entry errors we once had. My CAT is lYINg on the sHIFt keY doesn’t happen as often as it used to. However, auto-correct misses some howlers.
Approval or disapproval of abortion, among people, waxes and wanes but God’s law never changes. “Thou shall not murder”. pretty simple actually.
Democrats are incorrigible.
“typso” was on purpose, right?
If public schools taught ‘abortion’ as a subject side-by-side with ‘sex-ed’ with the same detail...
...eh. No point in going further. You all get it and my sarcasm is lost on the subject at hand.
Personally, I don't think that regulations requiring abortuaries to meet the same health and safety standards as real surgery clinics or requiring full disclosure about abortion equate to "far stricter laws." A woman can still snuff her baby at any time and she doesn't even have to have a reason to do so. That's hardly "strict."
