Good for you. I wish I had time to do that. I would also like to engage them in comment sections of msn websites. But I really don't have the time.
I wonder how successful they were finding and freeing anyone. I'd like to learn more about that.
In any internet argument, there are always three parties, two of whom are participating in the argument, the third just lurking. Never forget the lurkers. It might seem like you are getting nowhere, but you might be making more headway than you think.
This is something I’ve been thinking about a lately. Posting on FR is fulfilling but it does not help educate the masses. Our voices are needed out in the rest of the net where the chaos is.
I don’t care for posting on FB because I don’t believe in alienating half my audience with politics, but the various message boards need calm, rational posters to help bend the curve.
I pick my battles on Facebook. I have a high school friend who is a paid Democratic propagandist but makes so many logical fallacies, I like to let him trip himself up and let others see it clearly.
Another high school friend is a thinking liberal and when I engage with him, I know I need to have my facts and logic in tip top shape. He and I have mutually benefited from our online discussions. My hope is that others reading come away with at least the knowledge that there’s more to the story than what they see in silly posts people share that are pure liberal propaganda.
I am selective about who receives my Facebook posts and specify a group of friends when posting hot topics. Nobody from work is on that group and the people I know are more happy being ignorant are excluded as well. However, if they comment that they voted, then they get included like it or not!
One more thing about Facebook versus news site forums.
I’m not anonymous on Facebook. People there are people I’ve known for 35 years. When liberals try to portray Tea Party Conservatives as heartless, dumb lunks that don’t believe in science, the people who would be willing to believe that stereotype see me weigh in and have difficultly with their resulting cognitive dissonance.
Over the years, even my NJ teacher friends have come to learn that “taxing the rich” will not result in the promises made by politicians to suddenly come true. Though there is still the occasional emotional outburst! :-)

I am anonymous to a degree on FB...although most people know who I am, I use my stage name and use FB mostly to promote my entertainment business. As such, it does not pay to get too political and “Dixie Chick” myself with the liberal-leaning music community.
I do not believe in using FB to air my personal life and get attention like a lot of people do. How embarrassing.
But, but my liberal nephew says Warner is wrong about his history, because he has been educated and indoctrinated by the liberal education system
