Most people seem to have the economic IQ of dust. To think you could have a 33% increase in the minimum wage and have no impact is just plain stupid. If you really believe that, then why not $500/hr? I remember when Lee Iacocca took over Chrysler and got massive concessions from the unions at a time when Chrysler was on the verge of bankruptcy. As he was walking into a meeting, some twit reporter said: “You have extracted huge and painful concessions from the workers. What are you giving them in return?” Lee stopped dead in his tracks, turned around and said: “A job, you idiot!” He continues to write today and has a great way of conveying important points.

Washington’s loss, Nevada’s gain.

Maybe, maybe not. If they bring Washington's marxist ideas with them, Nevada loses.

“Seattle is supposed to be the home of some elite thinkers.”

Yeah, you mean like Kshama Sawant that “Indian Transplant.” Isn’t diversity wonderful. You take in the world’s trash and then just sit back and watch them work like termites to destroy your society. Onward to Marxism Seattle, but don’t look around in false “wonderment” when you find that those who fueled your economy have left town never to return. Over time, Boeing will completely leave Washington State. Maybe MS will stay until Gates dies, but everything else is on the move. You know that you’re in trouble when the “green businesses” like this one see the handwriting on the wall. They may be socialists, but they like to make a buck.

Note: The Reno-Tahoe Industrial Center east of Reno is the home of the mammoth Amazon Distribution Center. It is also the site for new 5BILLION dollar Tesla battery plant. The 'industrial park' is bisected by Interstate 80 and rail road tracks, has it's own air strip and ...get this - it's as big as Rhode Island.

While areas controlled by liberals mire themselves in politics, places that see the light are going to change the landscape of America.

Ironically, the most beautiful physical places are the ones taken over by progressives as businesses need room to grow.

Maybe that's the way it is meant to be.

My sister loves living in Reno. She moved there several years ago, and it’s been great for her and my niece. She works at Raleys, BTW, a very good company.

“In my town (eastern Massachusetts) a huge Biotech firm recently closed down their huge, modern headquarters building.”

Same thing here in the next town over, Bedford, Ohio.

We just moved from that area about a year ago. We liked living there a lot. Lots of good people there. Most everyone is from somewhere else, but fairly family-friendly. We would loved to have stayed, but we had to move for a job. I’ll be happy to pass along recommendations to anyone moving to the area.

Yes, the schools aren’t great, but if homeschooling is an option, it’s not terribly regulated, and not a lot of hurdles. Lots of homeschoolers & homeschool groups/opportunities there. The faith-based schools were the best ones, if you can’t homeschool.

My hubby worked in the Industrial Park. Sad thing: seeing a mustang or cattle get hit a least once a month on the road inside the park. And, yes, you have to reimburse the owner of the cattle if you hit one.
Funniest moment: watching one of the wild free-roaming mustangs try to open the door to get inside the quick mart at the gas station near the entrance!

While the company does have a plant in Ireland, Burroughs said the mission is to keep production in the United States.

Just move it to Communist China and get a piece of that dirt cheap labor.....Like most other American big biz.

So....you open an eatery or sports bar 1/2 mile outside the $15/hr jurisdiction and undercut the city businesses. Make the insanity work FOR you.”

They have the same minimum wage in SeaTac now, midway between Seattle and Tacoma. Only a matter of time before the libs fill in all the blank spaces and drive out all biz ownership.

Seattle is supposed to be the home of some elite thinkers.

My observation is that elites do not want jobs where people may get sweaty and dirty. Those who do such labor are low educated and unrefined.

Being cerebral, they are above such ilk. Now, that does not mean they shower often and do not themselves smell. It's that theirs comes from saving Mother Water rather than physical labor.

Mandatory minimum wage, the new Liberal version of the old practice of blood-letting.

Bloodletting is claimed to have been the most common medical practice performed by surgeons from antiquity until the late 19th century, a span of almost 2,000 years.

In the overwhelming majority of cases, the historical use of bloodletting was harmful to patients.

Elite no longer means what it used to. For example; GOPe.

There are indeed great minds in Seattle but they are not in government. If they were in government, their brains would rot with the sewage and thus, they would no longer be great minds.

as she put on a Moody Blues album....

"And when he was of anger, or knew hurt, or felt fear....it was because he was not understanding."

Maybe actually listening to the lyrics would help, ya think ?

"We have four plants in Seattle all completely full, and we're renting space at very high rates around the city and that is a problem for Seattle because we can't expand here. We can't introduce new production here," said Company President John McSwiney. Moving to Reno, where the median price of a home is half what it is in Seattle, eliminates that disadvantage and could increase some workers disposable income even with wage cuts.
