“I was stunned that the president could say something so at once banal and offensive.”

Sadly, I was not.

Outraged, but not stunned.

He’s excusing terrorism. Pure and simple.

The crusades were the west’s response to Islamic brutality.

Re: “And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Funny thing, while The Obamanation was saying his Caucasian side ancestors were committing those terrible deeds, he failed to add that at the same times in history his Black side ancestors were doing the same, if not worse, to their own brothers in Africa as a normal custom of their everyday lifestyle--

After all, he wouldn't want to be accused... of being racist--

Isn’t the response in the form of air strikes by any country a modern-day crusade?

It is a response to Orthodox Islam and it’s attempt to conquer the world. What’s the difference except a few hundred years?

Obama may mention the crusades and inquisition, but what really shapes his world view is Jim Crow and colonialism.

I suspect he truly is looking for remedies to those last two and doesn’t see Islamic nation building or empire building forces as his enemies except as far as they cause problems to groups he sympathies with.

If the Iranians have his sympathies then he would oppose helping the Jordanians and those parties in Egypt most sympathetic to the Saudis. He would also oppose ISIS since ISIS is in the Iranians way.

Obama’s thinking on this is quite Muslim. The Madrid train bombing in 2004 was, according to the Islamic spokemen, retaliation for the Spanish evicting the Muslims in the 1500’s.

So it makes perfect sense that the Crusades justify the slaughter going on now- to a Muslim.

Krauthammer voted for Obama? I didn’t know that. Do you have a source link?

Why do they still use the word “prayer” when describing this meeting?

It sounds blasphemous.

He'll be on the train to the camp with Bill O'Reilly and both will be expressing their shock and that they never saw it coming.

Ha, I can hear O'Rielly now talking to his fellow passengers, "you don't think they are REALLY taking us to the camps do you? That is just right-wing rhetoric. You all will see, the spin stops here......" [spit]

Thank you for that vivid description. I couldn’t watch it because I can’t even hear his odious, condescending voice without raising my blood pressure to the danger point.

His world is a fantasy world, in one sense, because he believes himself to be the leader of the new caliphate. He is a Sunni, having attended a madrassa in 98% Sunni Indonesia for several years. But he’s currently trying to put Shiite Iran in charge of the ME. He honestly thinks he’s the person who’s going to unite them and be the new caliph of the totally new caliphate. (I think his wife doesn’t want to be part of it, however, and as much as I dislike her, I cheer her refusal to wear a head or face covering at the Saudi king’s memorial service.)

I hope we make it through the next two years without seeing a minaret constructed next to the WH.

Adding insult to injury is the fabricated accent Obama employs at the Prayer Breakfast. He tries to sound like someone who has spent the last 40 years in a turnip patch.

"The crusades were the west’s response to Islamic brutality."

It's really remarkable how few in the media even on Fox News, have pointed this out.
One guest, a black minister, said it out loud this morning.
He also said,

"Obama should keep Gitmo open and his mouth shut!"

It was just one more opportunity for obama to insult Christians, nothing more, nothing less.

Disagree.

It's designed to not only equivocate Jihadist Islam with Christianity - it is designed to create a narrative that Christians are a threat to the state every bit as much as the Islamic 'terrorists' are.

This is the technique used by narcissistic madmen to eliminate the targeted groups they demonize.

And that is what Obama has on the docket. And he will empower the Caliphate, run us over with foreigners and destroy us from within to achieve his means.

I guess it never occurred to Obama that the arguments AGAINST slavery and Jim Crow laws were Judeo-Christian ones. That guilt from not following that ten commandments stuff for starters and all that the liberals keep trying to remove from public areas....
