Recent TV news segments, op-ed pieces, public debates and letters to the editor have debated the issue of whether it is unfair, bigoted, overbroad or dangerous to implicate Islam in the reign of violence and terror that has embroiled much of the world over the past several years.
Where does the truth, as difficult as defining "truth" is, lie? Rarely in the debate is there much factual data.
In 2013 the PEW Research Center conducted extensive surveys on attitudes in the Muslim world. The results (at least to this writer) are stunning.
Three hundred million Muslims believe that Sharia-prescribed corporal punishment such as flogging and cutting off hands for theft should be the law of the land.
Three hundred million Muslims believe that death by stoning is the appropriate punishment for adultery.
Two hundred and fifty million Muslims believe that the death penalty is the appropriate punishment for apostasy, or leaving the religion.
These numbers are staggering and do not include the many millions more Muslims in the rest of the Middle East, Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Central Asia who share the beliefs.

He sounds reasonable to me. I’m guessing he won’t be having any Muslim customers in lawyer or real estate ventures ... :-) ...
Multicultists... I think we got a new word.
All the talk about their religion being hijacked by extremists is just cover. The sleeper cell in the WH is trying his best to help them but he’s quite disappointed that Americans keep getting all worked up over an innocent man being torched to death and such.
I love the historical relativism that some of these folks have. Comparing behavior today to behavior in the distant past or even 150 years ago is absurd. The key point of modern American or European society is that the cultures have evolved and a different consensus in those cultures exists today than what existed at some point in the past.
Think about this just a little bit - I know it will hurt your relativist brains but try. Millions died in the growing up process of the West. Religious wars, tribal wars, the wars of ideology — all stupid but all, it looks like, needed. Then there is the Renaissance where we began to question ourselves and rediscover the classicism of the Romans and Greeks which we modified to give us the spirit of investigation and progress and the beginning of humanism.
All the while Islam remains locked in the frozen ignorance of atherosclerotic old men who are too stupid and too afraid to change — all due to the conflation of god and government and the complete historical / cultural lack of self government among the average individual. Where is the Greek metaphor in the Middle East? The high point of Arab Islam was the Bagdad Caliphate — religious dictatorship.
Islam needs to fix itself as a culture or it needs to be forced to do so. The world cannot afford this primitive thought any longer. There are too many of us and there are too few resources to waste on a retarded culture.
There is no comparison of Western culture to Islamic culture.
Most blacks have no comprehension of their own history
Most Black slaves were brought to this country since they had been conquered either by tribal warfare , or Muslum conquest.
How soon they forget, because it was the white who transported them to this country ,
and the blacks in this country convieniently forgot about Muslums who made them slaves in the first place.
Maybe they just want to return to their family heritage roots, where again they can become slaves again, or endure "Submission" ?
Some countries and continents never change , even after a millenia
So he woke up a bit, but still had to bash Bush and Cheney, while saying nothing about Owebowma, the cowardly Christian hating, muslim sympathiser.
Typical.
Excellent post.
ALL muslims, violent or non-violent fully believe that the entire world must come under sharia law - and they all work toward that goal in one fashion or another.
That makes them ALL poison to Western culture and government.
That is all I need to know about islam. Terror is just a distraction.
