President Barack Obama stirred outraged with his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast Thursday, comparing the atrocities committed by ISIS to those of Christians "in the name of Christ."

"Unless we get on our high horse and think that this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama said. "In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ."

"So it is not unique to one group or one religion," Obama said. "There is a tendency in us, a simple tendency that can pervert and distort our faith."Appearing on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV, conservative commentator Pat Buchanan fumed at Obama comparing the extreme barbarity of ISIS to the Crusades. The problem with the Crusade was that Christians acted like Muslims. ISIS is Muslims acting like Muslims!

They may have better understood what we lack today. That is when fighting for survival you have to outdo the enemy’s tactics.. Until we understand this principle, we will lose this war. Fighting uncivilized barbarians with civilized rules of engagement is a sure recipe for defeat. This rule dictates that we turn the ISIL territory into glass. We have the ability but not the will, which makes us losers.

Are we evolved to sit by and allow this barbarism to continue without doing anything about it?

Sorry, the Crusades were a RESPONSE to Muslim aggression. Yes, some did bad things, it is inevitable when lots of people are involved in a war. It is a mistake however to equate the reason for the initiative as “bad” in of itself. It wasn’t. Islam was on a rampage a thousand years ago and we pushed back and stopped them, multiple times. Now the same crap is happening all over again and people think it’s something new and Islam has been “corrupted”. It hasn’t, Islam is as Islam does.

If it weren’t for the Crusades we’d all be speaking Arabic, everyone enslaved by Islam.

Don’t forget, it was a long time ago when that crap happened. Obama should stick to what he knows; sodomy.

You are right about the purpose of the Prayer Breakfast.
And the PB is not the time to bring in personal opinions rendered by Obama much less any one else attending and those who have attended in the past know & understand the protocol.

What astounds me is the press & Obamas syncophants like ValJar praise him to the highest heavens on how intelligent he is. These statements made by him are absolutely ludicrous and frankly show a lack of understanding of the history of religion in the world at large.

If he thinks he can skate by and TO EQUATE everything he is sorely wrong. In fact it’s absolutely dumbfounding that a so-called “intellectual “ would even go this route!

It’s a 5th-6th grade mentality and understanding of history he’s brought to this Prayer Breakfast.

It’s also a another public action of his words to send a private message his muzzie backers and let them know he is on their side.

TRULY DISGUSTING I CAN”T TELL YOU IN WORDS HOW DISGUSTED I AM by this continuation of a traitor to Office of the POTUS.

Vlad the Impaler rules. Just pushing back the muslims killing your people only caused them to come at you again in a few years. You give them something to be terrorized of like pig blood soaked bullets and they do not try it again until that memory has faded. The one thing you do know for fact, is that in the future, they will try and destroy you again because it is commanded in their koran...it becomes a question of how bad can you make the memory of the consequences of fighting you.

Until islam is outlawed (and we have in the West wiped out all other death dealing religions we have encountered) we will become barbarians once again to defend ourselves or our daughters will fall to slavery of islam because of our weakness.

No, not all the West did to fight islam was honorable but you need to look at all of what was going on historically, from the lack of the common mans ability to read the "Bible" and what they were actually dealing with and fighting before we apply today's morality to it.

Before I die, I hope to live long enough to see this P.O.S. unmasked for who he is, a Manchurian Candidate in our midst, a muslim, homosexual, Anti-American fraud who has lived a life as an empty vessel, totally devoid of any truth or humanity.

Hannity mentioned this opening his radio program yesterday afternoon.

To Sean’s credit, he summarized Obama’s remarks as being predictably typical of the Marxist Obama is.

The three thoughts that came to mind upon hearing this:

1) Obama has marginal regard for Christ and Christians alike.

2) Obama is either ignorant, or knowingly lies about the intent of the Crusades.

3) Obama is running cover for ISIS.

Of course I have no idea what’s in the man’s heart, but his projections are disturbing.

The left has created a situation where government actually funds abortion. The crusades were centuries ago. How many babies will the lefties kill this year and force US taxpayers to pay for it?

Obama's and leftist policies have murdered more innocents than we can count.

Where did you get the verse you highlighted? It is very damning if it’s accurate, given the burning of the Jordanian pilot. I saw some liberal arguing that the Koran doesn’t command Muslims to burn infidels, so therefore the burning wasn’t “a true expression of Islam” or something.

I checked some online translations of the Koran and none of them have it phrased as a command like the version you posted.

http://quran.com/22/19

Not saying your version is incorrect per se, but from what I’m seeing so far it is not correct.

There are a bunch of different translations. I suppose this is one of the problems with the Koran. Muslims twist and bend the translations and meanings for their purposes. I just did another search, here's another translation: 22:19

22:19 These twain (the believers and the disbelievers) are two opponents who contend concerning their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads,

22:20 Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted;
