NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams on Wednesday's program offered a clarification of the events that led to his news team being protected in Iraq by the Third Infantry in 2003 — and his recent honoring of one of the Army vets who was there.

Williams and his team were actually in one of the aircraft following a Chinook helicopter that was hit.
In fact, in the original Dateline special on the incident, Williams even says, "On the ground we learn the Chinook ahead of us was almost blown out of the sky," acknowledging he was not in the lead helicopter.

Listened to his ‘sort of’ apology from last evening via FoxNews this morning.
He tried the ole ‘divert blame from himself’ tactic by praising the heroic men in uniform who surrounded him and his news team when the helos landed.
[How many other times has he praises our men in uniform for anything?]
His birth places of Elmira, NY and Ridgewood NJ must be real proud of their native sons.
That’s right, he was so special he was was born in two places at the same time.
PS: Sorry I posted that, it now gives Williams the perfect excuse...’that was not the Elmira me, it was the Ridgewood me’.

After high school Williams attended Brookdale Community College, after which he transferred to The Catholic University of America, and then The George Washington University.[11] He did not graduate, and instead interned with the administration of President Jimmy Carter. The old saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul but with Williams his whole face does and it’s crooked.
