The impact has been as great as I’ve stated, however. Not only has it fueled Walker’s bump in the polls, but it was trumpeted by all the MSM as well.

Well you better start respecting our next President of the United State, President Scott Walker. Our country is in big trouble and you are throwing nonsense all over the place. Walker will not give illegals citizenship. Texas is the place that has all the illegals all over the place. What are they doing about it? Nothing and since the leadership of Texas has had years to fix it and haven’t well you know how much will get down if anyone from Texas is President.

Walker added: “If people want to come here and work hard in this country, I don’t care if you come from Mexico or Canada or Ireland or Germany or South Africa or anywhere else. I want them

Not a thing wrong with this statement.

A fellow traveler with Priebus and Ryan deserves skeptical scrutiny. IMO the guy had no idea what he was doing with his union issue—he had seen Daniels do something similar to little controversy in IN—except saving the state a little money so he would have a better record to run on when his ambition took him to the next level.

And then once he kicked up a firestorm he held onto his job for dear life—just as any good bureaucrat would do.

The truth of President Walker’s stance on illegal immigration. Why are you posting all these lies?

Memo to all Tea Party Conservatives (like me): GOD is not running for Pres, so get over finding the PERFECT candidate. Scott Walker is the real deal, and though not perfect on every issue, he has proven he can win against the Dem onslaught.

I have heard that, I am hardly an expert on citizenship, look at who we have now. Cruz is much more pro-American. If these questions can be cleared up...by what authority ??? I am clueless there. As we saw with Obama, there is no authority.

Walker has said that he backs eventual citizenship for current illegals and that his approach to stopping more illegals crossing the border is to simply allow them ALL to come here legally instead.

I’ve posted links and don’t know why you are choosing to argue to the contrary of what is on video, audio, and print record across the Internet.

Why wouldn’t there be pictures of Walker and Cruz if they were so philosophically aligned? Can you find an article where Walker endorses repealing zerocare? He declared same-sex marriage debate ‘OVER’ in WI. He declined his Republican Statehouses’ wanting to take up Right To Work as a ‘distraction’.

This is setting off no warning bells in your head?

Typed like a true RINO: “He can win!”—like Romney?

A candidate with a position that will lead to a flood of new Leftist voters leaves no opportunity for conservatives to be elected to national office yet again.

If Walker gets in, he’ll be turning the constitutional conservative light out by the time he leaves.

I’m interested in hearing counter arguments.

And, frankly, I'm getting tired of offering them.

U.S. citizenship law recognizes two kinds of American citizens: citizens-at-birth and naturalized citizens.

As a child born on foreign soil to an American citizen mother, who was of a certain age, Cruz immediately qualified as a citizen-at-birth and was recognized as such by the American consulate.

Citizens-at-birth are eligible to serve as president. Naturalized citizens are not.

So far as the presidential eligibility argument is concerned, end of story.

Really, Walker, with his own admissions of principles and platform is a Romney Clone, with no Military experience and only wrapping up his degree for his POTUS run.

Astounded so many FReepers can’t see this... but then a lot of FReepers are addicted to American Idol.

Is Walker going to other blue/purple states, assisting with their implementation of his BLUEPRINT, are any states asking for his help? Why can’t he say ‘I’m helping States W,X,Y and Z undertake the same fight I took to the left in WI’?

No? Why Not?

Or in this case, a statement made wasn’t as strong as we would like.

I'm guessing Walker gave a "non-answer" to a loaded question from a reporter seeking to back him into a corner. Happens all the time, especially with the abortion issue.

Getting caught up in a media created "controversy" only works against the real work a person is trying to do. All Walker has to do if he decides to run for president is give one policy speech detailing his stance on illegal immigration and the borders and then refuse to answer any and all "what if" questions pertaining to his already stated beliefs. Same goes for abortion or any other subject the media uses to create controversy in a campaign. Remember, the media never uses this tactic on liberal candidates. It is foolish for conservative candidates to allow themselves to get sucked in.

It is also foolish for people to not recognize political strategy employed by candidates avoiding these pitfalls.

Also, there is this gem

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has been an outspoken opponent of Obamacare, challenging its constitutionality in court and rejecting federal funds to expand Medicaid under the program. But that doesn’t mean he backs the current House GOP strategy to risk shutting down the government over the issue.

When given the option to either A - say nothing B - Stand with Cruz, he picked C support the establishment.

No thanks, no more.

Scott Walker distanced himself from House Republicans debating a new immigration bill by endorsing a path to citizenship for immigrant workers.Walker acknowledged that a substantial number of Wisconsin farms depend on migrant workers, some of them here illegally. He also was sharply critical of how difficult the federal government makes it for those workers to come to this country.
“If people want to come here and work hard and benefit, I don’t care whether they come from Mexico or Ireland or Germany or Canada or South Africa or anywhere else,” he said. “I want them here.”

The Democratic-led U.S. Senate passed an immigration bill last week that features a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. Many conservative House Republicans oppose the bill, viewing it as rewarding law-breakers.

He said as a gubernatorial candidate in 2010 that he would sign an Arizona-style bill, which would allow local police to stop suspected illegal immigrants.

Make it easier to enter the country legally
Walker said he is in favor of the Senate immigration bill—that features a path to citizenship—but called it a backward “Band-Aid” approach, saying elected leaders should make it easier for people to enter the country and become legal citizens in the first place.
“Not only do they need to fix things for people already here, or find some way to do it, there’s got to be a larger way to fix the system in the first place,” he said. “Because if it wasn’t so cumbersome, if there wasn’t such a long wait, if it wasn’t so difficult to get in, we wouldn’t have the other problems that we have (with people living here illegally),” he said. Walker’s stance on immigration reform evolved over the years.

2010: stop suspected illegals; 2012: that’s a distraction
Walker’s stance on immigration reform evolved over the years. He said as a gubernatorial candidate in 2010 that he would sign an Arizona-style bill, which would allow local police to stop suspected illegal immigrants, if he were elected. Then, in December 2012, Walker said he no longer favored such a bill, telling reporters that such legislation would become a “huge distraction” from accomplishing his agenda for the state. Today, Walker said he would support a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants under some circumstances.

All of these are for Wisconsin. When you run the country you get a big dose of reality on how it affects the US. I still think that Walker is heads and shoulders above the rest of the potential nominees.
