I am really shocked by your comments. Sure I don’t smoke, but why would I want to take away a personal decision that someone has made. Sure I have walked threw a person smoking and BRIEFLY smelled the smoke. Big deal. I mean I would rather have that then taking away the freedoms of Americans. It is sad that even conservatives have turned so communist. I think you are not communist but your posts are not typical of your norm. Actually I think you might be sarcastic in your posts......I hope.

In a aircraft, the people around you were not subjected to anything because the air was recycled faster than anyone could foul it.

I choose to smoke. I do not consider it a addiction. But you smoking Nazi’s would not understand that..

I drink, but don’t generally smoke.

Went to a cigar bar in DC with a bunch of DC Chapter Freepers a few years back.

I loved it. There was something deliciously anti-liberal about smoking a big cigar in a large crowd of people.

Who are also smoking.

Can’t believe they would forbid smoking in that city of all places. Governments shouldn’t have anything to do with banning smoking on private property. It should be up to the property owners, which obviously includes businesses. If you don’t like a business that allows smoking, do business elsewhere. Seems easy enough.

But you smoking Nazi’s...

Proud to be called a Nazi by those who pimp death and addiction.

NYC was the worst; shortly after having bars/restaurants invest in partitions and “smoke-eaters”, they banned it outright. I’ve often wondered if the business owners ever recouped those costs incurred...

I keep thinking about taking up smoking just because I am sick of this population control mindset.

Nice. Want to visit the DC Freepers. Been on many a SF/ Berkeley Freep but DC is where it's at.

Here is my objection to this draconian nannyism BS...

I OWN the land that my bar sits on.

I OWN the two-by-fours, the sheetrock, the plumbing fixtures, all the furniture, EVERYTHING the building is made out of and contains.

The Bank does not own it, I do.

The CITY does not own it, I do.

The STATE does not own it I do.

It was by MY hard work and sweat that this happened.

What gives these commies the right to DICTATE what happens inside it?

I don’t smoke or drink...

I don't either. In a free country, though, the business owner makes those decisions to allow or not allow it.

Not that there is more than 1 person in 3 anymore who has any idea what a free country looks like.

Actually Sandrat....There really are no places outside of NO that can be built on....They will have to drain more low lying swamps...lol..

In any case, you have hundreds of other bars and more casinos in Mississippi. (not too far away)

A boatload of the best musicians in the world of jazz will NOT stop smoking on their sets. Union rules allow. Landrieu is toast— this cannot be enforced, nor should it be.
The air quality over N.O. is poor to begin with, and they don’t enforce those major laws. Hence this halfa@@ response.

Same here. Used to love to get my drink from the pretty pleasant stewardess and light up and smile at my neighbor, maybe a pleasant and broadening conversation would ensue.

Of course the great benefit of the smoking section was that one was spared the insufferable fools with their petty fears and rantings.

Remember when we were told that it was crazy talk to suggest that the mandatory “non-smoking sections” in restaurants would lead to bans on smoking in bars?

Remember when they told us that seat belt laws would never be a “primary” offense?
