Less than three weeks after President Barack Obama announced the loosening of a 52-year-old embargo with Cuba, a group of 18 people from Boulder traveled to the island nation.
While spending American dollars on a beach getaway in Cuba is still illegal, the United States government has relaxed travel restrictions over the years so that American citizens can take "people to people" tours, which must be education-based and led by a Cuban government-approved tour agency.

"She explained to us about the ration book and her payscale. She works for a government entity in her neighborhood that we would consider a nonprofit so she was the parallel to me, working with people and she makes $13 a month at her job," Desmond said. "She explained that a couple of years ago the government came in and replaced all their refrigerators for more energy efficient refrigerators...Now she has to pay $3 a month until the year 2025 for that refrigerator that she didn't ask for and she didn't want."
I wish people could see we are actually no different, it is just our lives are a little less impoverished. But, we are slaves to the whims of the government no less.
Sort of like young people and ObamaCare. Except it's much more than $3/mo.
Further into the article the gal bemoans there isn’t internet, but that with more Americans visiting and “demanding internet access,” that will change.
But, then silly liberal asks that Americans not impose their will on Cuba, but rather that they learn from Cubans.
Which is it, do you want us to demand the internet or not... make up your mind.
Yes, it's Obamadupe@dumbasrocks.com
And still, she & the group put a left-wing spin on their trip. Well, it’s Boulder
I don’t think you’re allowed to use the term ‘gal’ - especially since it’s Boulder
She looks like a doofus.
$13 dollars a month...wow this means all the trade Cuba has with other countries has really benefited its people..../s
FIFTY YEARS, after the USA became a nation, we had a strong and vibrant CAPITOLIST economy!
FIFTY YEARS after the Cuban COMMUNIST Revolution, they are still trying to make LA REV-O-L-00-C’ION work!
And the airheads in BOULDER can’t see that?
"people to people" tours, which must be education-based and led by a Cuban government-approved tour agency.
Guilty
Guilty!
Can I hire her to haunt a house during Halloween?
Who does her makeup, the Marquis de Sade?
And does she bite? Just asking.
There sure are some dumb rocks in Boulder, Colorado, and in other parts of the state too.
Obama’s generous offer of billions of taxpayers money to comrade Castro will not bring a bit of freedom nor democracy to Cuba.
The fact is that for 56 years more than 150 nations have maintained free political and trade relations with Castro, tourists from around the world traveled to the island looking for fun, sex and American cars relics from the 1950s . Nevertheless Cuba didnt move an inch closer to Democracy. That policy of complicity with the tyrannical Cuban regime undermined the U.S. trade embargo and proved to be a complete failure since far from facilitating the return of freedom and democracy, their policy brought more oppression and misery for the Cuban enslaved people.
OH, and the refrigerator is cheap crap from somewhere... and will not work shortly, with no parts. Viva Fidel!
Blonde jokes to commence. Pleasant empty head without gift of logic or common sense.
No internet is possible dumbo girl, in a police state. Only the ruling class (just like they want to do in Boulder i’d bet and in the US i’m certain).
