The Leftie just became PM of Greece, and his first order of business is to burden the one industry where Greece actually earns some money.

Greece's new radical Prime Minister has declared war on the country's all-inclusive holiday resorts and vowed to limit them. If the Army isn't involved in breaking shit and killing people then it's not war.

Liberals/Progressives/Socialists/Communists are, first and foremost, jealous little losers who resent anyone who has anything that they don’t.

One usually becomes a leftist when one realizes that even the most simple things are virtually not understandable.
They therefore work to make their imaginary (and obviously very very simple) world real.
Why do we not treat them as they deserve?
Guillotines would do the job nicely.

And we all know those resorts don’t buy anything locally nor do they employ locals. So no harm will be done.

Those resorts take money and put it into corporate profit while the tourists stay in a Disneyworld like environment because everything's been paid for. I'd wage those resorts will get around it by selling optional tours, just as the cruise ships do.
I actually think this offers the vacationer more freedom.

believes such deals 'alienate tourists from the local economy' by keeping them behind resort gates and away from local businesses and attractions. So allow tourists to experience the same shortages, shakedowns and sh_tty service as the rest of the Greek population. Great. That'll draw them in.

You could be right but the fact that people go there indicate they want that convenience and cost savings. There is nothing preventing them from staying at Zorba’s place and having a do it yourself itinerary. I believe it is more families where dragging kids around is a pain who stay at these resorts. These types of resorts are popular at other places in Mexico, and the Caribbean.

I believe that the biggest profit-maker in Greece is the island tours. They are great and the only places I know that have the gated all-inclusive hotels are on the outer islands. Not only are those island economies small, the hotels are the only real income, such as Kos. If this nimrod tries to mess with that, I believe the outer island resorts will seek to exist.

This is obviously Satans time. Yep. I visited Greece in September and the ONLY viable money maker there is tourism. Small pockets of beauty, but otherwise a hellhole. Greece is one broke d*ck country. This latest move is just astoundingly stupid.
