Media take the distraction bait again

But we won't.

Today, we are not going to talk about "Deflategate", the green lipstick woman that most normal people have never heard of, the unfounded controversy about an American hero portrayed in a movie, the administration being ticked off that Speaker John Boehner actually did something constructive to maintain our relationship with Israel, or a State of the Union speech that was so out of touch with reality that even liberal Obama stalwart Chris Matthews said so.

None of those distractions will do a thing to stimulate the economy, increase the income of working Americans, create jobs, reduce the national debt, get people out of poverty, fix a health care system that the Democrats are in denial about having, strengthen our national security or cause the rest of the world to regain its respect for a nation now timid on radical Islamic terrorism.

Those things are just not going to happen with this president, his administration and congressional Democrats who have clearly shown their socialist and bigger government stripes. They no longer even try to disguise them because they still think we are all stupid and that they can get away with it.

As a result, we will continue to drift toward more socialism, economic mediocrity, more national debt and weakened national security. The good news is that the direction is reversible if we can just hold out against two more years of inept leadership, toxic partisanship, and working on the wrong problems.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media continue to take the bait thrown out by the president and the liberals as being worthwhile to report on. All that non-productive crap might be entertaining and controversial to some people, and maybe media types believe it will help their ratings (chi-ching!), but it does nothing to stir accountability amongst our highest elected officials.

Also, the answer to every perceived problem by this administration and its supporting cast of congressional Democrats is more taxes, more regulations and more government intrusion in our lives. And while the public is being abused through the back door, the Democrats redirect the national narrative for a few days or a week on another unimportant distraction for the media's consumption.

Such as: The Washington Redskins football team needs to change their name because it's insulting to Native Americans. Or: The latest flap out in California that a newspaper should not use the word "illegal" to describe people who are in this country illegally! Or: The cause of obesity in this country is that people don't have enough labeling information in grocery stores and restaurants.

Just put down that extra fried pork chop and you won't need any more labeling information! It's common sense, not a need for more government

Oh! And let's not forget denial, finger-pointing and political correctness in Washington, D.C., which have become an art form in this new era of government dysfunction. And don't dare suggest a real solution to a problem, such as replacing the tax code, because pundits, commentators and establishment politicians will just roll their eyes in disbelief that you really think that can be done.

While we are waiting for this current political nightmare to be over, here's what we can do:

1. BE LOUD!  Make some constructive noise! "Don't be silent on things that matter,” Dr. Martin Luther King said. Let your senators and representative hear you, so they will know you are paying attention. That's only three people you need to pester!

2. BE ENCOURAGING! Some members of Congress are trying to do the right things for the right reasons. Encourage them and don't expect perfection. It's not easy "herding cats" or being one of the 535 cats trying to get something done.

3. BELIEVE! We can't give up or give in to the direction we are going. We can at least slow down the damage, which is all of the leverage we have right now until 2016. Let's pray we elect a new president who will "do no harm" and actually lead, and maintain a Congress interested in the people more than politics.

Just because the media take the distraction bait does not mean we will also. No! We will continue to focus on solutions in this space – on my radio show, on this site and on the Herman Cain Channel – until their eyes roll right out of their heads.

There is a power at work greater than politics and politicians.

That's why we will get through this

?? huh, who in the hell ever said anything about doing any of these things. We have spent 6 years tearing all those things down for the sole purpose of more Government Power and Control over the everyday lives of Americans.

The media isn’t taking any bait; they deliberately create the diversions to distract Americans as their way of life is destroyed.

How can we save our nation if the media will not report what is happening and quit trying to run 100 percent agenda pieces/distractions? It is a surreal country they are reporting, much different than reality.

People should have been asking themselves that since Obama (with no background at all) was elected president. If that wasn’t enough to stir people from their couches, I would think the RE-election (when after four years the economy was even worse) would have woken them up.
