I’m sorry, but this is pathetic. No more useful or effective than Michelle Obama’s anti-Boko Haram hashtag campaign.

The Jihadists don’t give crap one about memes and pop culture.

They will view these acts of “defiance” as weakness because they are not hurt by them in the slightest.

Main thing is that Japan does not give these guys a cent. Popular sentiment matters then. Not a cent.

One of the Japanese hostages is apparently a jihadi himself anyhow.

Hopefully, this awakens a bit of the old Japanese martial spirit.

Yes, I think a more martial Germany and Japan would be a good thing for the Western world.

How times change.

Cheers,

Euro

Disagree. Moochelle stupidly put out the hastage #BringBackOurGirls as a serious attempt at activism (and racial solidarity, since she wouldn't give a crap if they had been White girls).

But these Japanese memes are resigned to the deaths, minimizing their importance, and ridiculing ISIS. I LOVE it.

I agree. The Japanese should call Bibi and offer Israel the same $200 million as a reward for sending these guys to Hell.

Did the terrorist scumbags get the money?

Did they get Japan to grovel and wring their hands?

Ridicule is powerful weapon.

In the Tweet with the meme, it actually reads, “tomorrow will be sad,
but it will pass.” I find that so weak as to be offensive. It isn’t
going to pass for those two hostages.

Ridicule only works if it is viewed as ridicule by the intended target. The Jihadis will completely ignore this.

Now, if they photoshopped an image of Mohammed superimposed on the two hostages, that would get the Jihadis really worked up.

There was a time when the Japanese military was feared, now they fight back with PhotoShop. I’m sure that ISIS is negotiating the release of the two Japanese citizens as we speak. I’m afraid MacArthur was a little to good at his job.

disagree - I think ridiculing the isis pigs is a win.

I suppose it could be argued whether ridicule is actually happening. To me it is. Just simple making fun of them. Although I think it should be REAL mockery.

Have the isis thug cutting up pig meat and eating it.

Have a mohammed with a young boy then pig and dog blood being poured onto them.

Get nasty. Then get even when the US is back.

Baby steps. We started out by mocking Hitler, too.

Not at all true, remember Paris? They are very sensitive to any insult. A line from Heinlien comes to mind: “When dealing with some people it is necessary to continue to step on their toes until THEY apologize.”

Appeasement has not worked, confrontation has a much better chance. It certainly would not help to give them money, this would just encourage more kidnappings.

The target isn’t the Jihadis, the target are their potential recruits. Take the cool away from ISIS and turn it into a joke to dry up their recruiting.
