Sen. Marco Rubio has begun taking concrete steps toward launching a presidential bid, asking his top advisors to prepare for a campaign, signing on a leading Republican fundraiser, and planning extensive travel to early-voting states in the coming weeks, ABC News has learned.

"He has told us to proceed as if he is running for president," a senior Rubio advisor tells ABC News

Sort of off topic, but has Ted Cruz said he's running yet? Why don't we hear any speculation about him? Pro or con.

IMO, he's the polar opposite of Clinton and - assuming she's the nominee - is exactly what we need. No Mitt. No Jeb. No "middle" party candidate.

So what is Cruz waiting for?

Only FOX is promoting Rubio and if I’m anywhere near being correct in interpreting body language .. I think Rubio is a little uncomfortable with FOX’s insistence in having him on for his opinion.

I think Cruz will run. There is plenty of speculation since he is hitting all the right states and apparently gathering a team around him

This next run might be the mirror image of the 2012 election. We will have a hoard of liberals with Jeb, Romney, Rubio, Santorum and one conservative, Cruz.

I am very worried the Cruz is going to pull a Palin and not run and I will be forced to back someone like Rand Paul.

Unfortunately, Rubio is probably the best of those who have announced. Hopefully we get something out of Cruz soon.

ABC News Exclusive?

Most of us have known since he was touting the amnesty bill from the Gang of 8.

Maybe we need to compile a list of the probable wannabes and forward it to ABC News.

2 weeks ago the media (including FOX) were orgasmic that Romney might run again. Then, that bloom lost its luster and much of the media started bashing Romney.

The media have ‘flavor of the week’ and it will only get worse as more potentials hint that they might jump into the race.

It will be interesting to see when the media turns on Hillary, if/when she gets some opposition on the Dem side.

I’m not going to be forced to back anyone.

A conservative GOP candidate can earn my vote.

The rest of the GOP parade of losers has no chance of getting it, and one or two of them will earn my vote for their opponent.

I agree that Rubio is one of the better that is considering a run. I think he would be my second favorite next to Cruz. I am concerned that Cruz cannot win. I will probably support him though.

Unfortunately, I don’t have that luxury in Virginia. The last 2 presidential primaries, I had to back Huckabee in 2008 and Ron Paul in 2012 because there were no conservatives on my ballot.

I think Cruz can win.

Immigration is a big problem with Rubio. I am also concerned he is going to play the role of stalking horse given his close and personal relationship with Jeb Bush. On the record, aside from amnesty, his record is decent, but that is a pretty big issue in my book. Unfortunately, Jeb holds the same position and Mitt has held every position imaginable at one time or another.

Marco is positioning himself right between Jeb and Mitt.

Are you kidding? Rubio is the best? If JEB! runs, Rubio won’t even win his home state. He’s running to be someone’s VP only. If he runs for president, he won’t be able to run for re-election to the senate and that would be fine with me. I won’t vote for the lying traitorous RINO in any case.

It is still early. So far Jeb, Mitt, Carson, and Rubio are the only 4 that have indicated they are running. Rubio, while not ideal, is the best of those 4.

Screwbio? NO sale.
Saying “Rubio is the best of those four” is what the logicians call a “false choice”.
If it’s Marco, most conservatives won’t vote for another Republicrat.
If we reject Dr. JEB, we reject his Mini-me.
Don’t like it? Too bad.
Go peddle your papers.

So you think a lying traitor is the best?

All four of these people are weak on US sovereignty. Rubio being the worse sovereignty traitor of all four.

Mitt and Rubio are both inveterate liars. Mitt is worse because of his many years of practice. Carson is soft on a lot of things but you can tell when he lies because it’s written all over his face. His Royal Highness JEB! is not much of a liar but since he’s Prince John, whatever he says, GOPe believers will work to make it become the truth.

Mitt and Rubio’s propensity to lie make them untrustworthy on every topic. Both should be at the bottom of any conservative’s list.

I do hope that Rubio is dumb enough to run for president. He won’t become president and he’ll lose his senate seat as well. That would be a win-win for me, Florida and the nation.
