A 17-year-old who says he is a street child from North Korea is seeking refugee status in Sweden, maintaining he walked across a frozen river into China and traversed two continents in cars, the trans-Siberian railway and the back of a truck.
But he offers no evidence to back his claims and Swedish authorities suspect he may be Chinese.

Well, start talking to him in Korean and see how he responds.
Not to worry. Put him on a plain to Boston and he can have an EBT card and a housing voucher just like Aunt Zatuni and Uncle Omar.
Yes and we will open wide for allll their friends and family.
I am sure there is a very distinct dialect of Korean spoken in NK as they have been isolated for some 65 years.
Okay, so he escaped China then.
Good for him.
An average 17-year old North Korean would probably look about 10 years old, malnourished, physically and mentally stunted.

Put a plate of rice down in front of him.
Does he dive at it?
He’s North Korean.
He should have said he was a Muslim and from Iraq and they would have asked no more questions.
couldnt have chosen a sh**hole more like North Korea. poor guy
If he was part of the military, he would be one of the healthier looking runts. I don’t think he made that claim though. They better keep is name and image a secret, because North Korea has surprisingly long arms when it comes to revenge.

she also has a "slight" accent...it's hard to detect (sarc/)
Notice when the NK military poses for pictures, they still often look like children dressed up in adult uniforms. Even if the Kim God-Dictatorship collapsed tomorrow and Korea became reunited, it would be absurdly difficult to assimilate Northerners into society. Almost 7 decades of separation have turned them into two different peoples, and Northerners would likely be a permanent underclass.
That was uh, interesting.
