NASA Scientists Admit Only 38% Chance 2014 Was Hottest Year on Record

Yahoo! Spike that climate change football! The mainstream media has spent the past few days doing a victory dance in the endzone because of the announcement that 2014 was the hottest year on record based on instrument observations that the earth's temperature might have increased by a factor of two-hundreths of a degree centrigrade with a margin of error of a tenth of a degree centigrade....meaning that a decrease in temperature was also well within the margin of error. However, that fact did not diminish the triumphal certitude of the temperature increase "fact" by many MSM outets such as the New York Times as chronicled by Newsbusters' Clay Waters or General Electric Vox which flat out declared, It's official: 2014 was the hottest year ever recorded.

Actually, a much more accurate Vox title would be, "It's official: 62% chance 2014 not the hottest year ever recorded." Why? Because the NASA scientists who were cited in the reports now claim they are only 38% sure which is another way of saying they were probably wrong. The U.K. Daily Mail tossed the cold water upon the numerous MSM happy dances about 2014 being the hottest year on record with this sobering reality check report. However, before we go to the brutal facts undercutting the premature MSM celebrations, let us take a final look at CBS This Morning eagerly reporting the 62% probability that they are wrong as an absolute fact, Jack:

I smelled a skunk as soon as the "Hottest Year on Record" story came out and this confirms it.

Yeah, yeah, only 38% chance, that's the ticket.

this is a little early for them to be back tracking. Id have thought it would take a week or more .....to get to this point.

could they possibly be doing this as a part of the agenda to create and sustain and “environment” of chaos?

The claim made headlines around the world, but ... Nasa admits this means it is far from certain... set a record at all.

Like gas prices, quick to go up, sluggish to go down... Hot climate change headlines, quick to go up, sluggish (if ever) to go down.

`It was so hot that it snowed in the Bullhead AZ area to the degree it covered the palm trees.

The hottest place in America on many years and it snowed enough to cover trees. To say nothing of the below average temps all year here.

But I’m sure we were the only place in the world that happened.

For many years now, every year has been the hottest or one of the hottest years on record even as the average real temperature continues stable or drops a tad. It will not change for so long as the climate reds have not got control of the world yet. I predict that the Final War will be between the Climatìsts and the Moslems.

I could smell this skunk coming for several months.

Here’s a link to just one of many articles that “predicted” 2014 would be the “hottest on record” (from October, 2014).

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/oct/20/2014-on-track-to-be-hottest-year-on-record-says-us-science-agency

They had these “hottest year on record” stories written months ago — I knew that the data would be tortured, until it said what “they” wanted it to say.

When I was a kid, we lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for a year. In mid-May that year, the evening news weatherman predicted "fair and warmer" for the next day. The next day, we were buried with 13" of snow in a white-out blizzard. My parents told the story about that 13 inches of "fair and warmer" for years after that.

For those of us who have been around the block more than a few times, we know that when the weather bureau predicts 30% chance of rain, that really means there is a 70% chance that it won't rain. The 30% prediction is just to cover their asses...just in case it does rain, so they can say they were right.

Funny. These climate change "enthusiasts" tell us what the climate is going to be a hundred years from now but the local meteorologists can't even say for certain what's going to happen a few days from now.

Are they sure it’s 38% and not 37.5%?

I wonder if correct weather forecasts ever break the 38% correct mark.

The degree of uncertainly was in the original release, no one bothered to read it, certainly not the press. The reason is simple. The change was a few hundredths of a degree, well inside the margin of error caused by uncertainty in the dataset. Measuring the temperature of the Earth is not a trivial task and the potential for error is greater than they are admitting.

If they were honest scientists they would have said: 2014, no change. See you again next year.

In 50 years when it’s proven Gorebull warming was all a hoax and the temps are the same as they always were, are we all going to get refunds with interest from all the money they stole from us at the gas pump from the 10 billion regulations? And since everything else goes up in cost when oil goes up are we going to get refunds on everything we bought as well? Last week our first radical Muslim POTUS announced even more regulations against gas and oil companies “to control methane output and stop climate change” even though the percentage of methane in the atmosphere is 0.00017% which is like him saying he is regulating gas and oil companies because creatures from the planet Zarg are eating rocks. It’s completely off the wall reasoning. But he will do it anyway and of course CongrASS will do absolutely nothing about it.

On Dallas radio this was the end of the earth, end times, hell is frozen over,
and finally, Sharks that fly with lasers and fully automatic black guns.

The message was a lie from the start but they relyed on the gullible to spread
the false report quickly before the "correction". The "correction"
will get no airtime. Damage done. Move along.

No way, nobody is even talking about the Globull Freezing Carter hoax.
And that one really did hurt our economy. Now they're doing it a bit slower,
piecemeal.
