The state should be helping this guy out. This is over the top imo.

"To make matters worse, the DOJ has prevented Larry for more than two years from using marijuana, a medicine that works effectively to treat his cancer and numerous other serious health conditions, while he awaits trial."

The biggest I’ve seen were about 14-15 feet. I’ve been told that in aerial searches the easiest thing to confuse it with is a Weeping Willow tree.

This thread reminds me - I want to put out some Okra this year.

Federal drug laws are unconstitutional!

That’s why prohibition required an amendment to the constitution.

The feds started the prohibition of marihuana by requiring tax stamps to possess it. Then they refused to sell the stamps. They did this to get around the fact that it was not a federal power to make any drug illegal. Then it all unlawfully morphed into the mess we have now.

He might argue that denial of hemp oil by the Feds exacerbated his cancer, causing it to metastasize, leading to a premature death, aka, murder. That would be an interesting civil trial where the preponderance of evidence should fall to the family collective because the Feds haven’t allowed any studies to bolster their claim of non-efficacy.

It isn’t just the number of plants, you also need the respective number of patients for all of those plants. The state tried to make it easy for people that need medical marijuana. Not that hard of a law to follow and doesn’t require buying semi legal dope from a dealer.

I already know how big they can get, I want to know how big there ones this guy was growing were when the Feds raided.

If he had 70 plants 12' plus my sympathy is a lot lower than if he had a substantial number of very small ones which would be thinned to keep the total under 60.

Of course, the Feds would probably count the length of the roots, and if they dug them up, the weight would include copious amounts of dirt.

Many people have been given the same news, and they're still around to talk about it. I pray that, many years from now, you will be one of those survivors. Best wishes to you.

So if the needs of the patient are more than served by the crop and they decide to sell off the excess to your or my kids, that’s okay?

Of course it's not, silly. Selling it to your kids, or any other minors is an entirely different issue. That's when an actual crime can be said to have been committed.

Absent that, NO CRIME HAS BEEN COMMITTED.

Why do Prohibitionists engage in such clumsy propaganda?

Putting someone in prison (or threatening them with same) for possessing the wrong plant/medicine/spirits, etc., or even for giving such things to another adult, is Tyrannical.

Right-wing authoritarians who embrace Prohibition are ultimately endorsing the same mobocratic notion of arbitrary Law that the nanny-state Left revels in. They simply disagree over the minor detail of whose Tyrannical vision should prevail. Both extremes are equally unjustifiable.

I prefer the animating struggle of Freedom, warts and all. Making one of God's own creations illegal and contraband? ROTFLMAO!

My liberty is MY Liberty. On my property, I can grow, smoke, or drink what I please. My vision of "The Pursuit Of Happiness" isn't subject to anybody else's narrow-minded interpretations.

If I'm not infringing on someone else's rights, I'm not a criminal, whether the state declares me to be one or not.

It is a plant and the govt has no business telling anyone what they can or cannot put in their own bodies.

If he dies of cancer because they took his medicine his widow should sue federal govt.

Marijuana has more carcinogens in it than tobacco.

Pure bull shite. Cannabis has no known carcinogens. Post source and science for your made up claim.

The medical oil is made from the flowering buds, the rest of plant is not used in medical oil production. Average is about a gram of oil per an oz of bud. 70 plants is not a big deal. Cannabis plants should be treated like tomato plants, no govt interference. And never should any authority have the authority to tell us what medicine we can use.

There are certainly a lot of people here that don’t walk the walk or talk the talk of being conservative.

Most of the "Reefer Madness" zombies see the words plant and figure it's gotta be at least a pound per plant if not two or ten.

Very few are able to gain knowledge or wisdom about this sacred first gift. They have been fed mushroom food all their lives. The Truth often hurts, but it Always sets you free.

Considering that this information can be found on several sites like the CDC, WHO, Lancet, JAMA and other health sites, I have to assume you're exhibiting symptoms of marijuana use. I'll get you started with a short article from WebMD and you can take it from there.

WA State probably asked the Feds to come in, either the state asked them or the legal commercial growers called them in.

There is a glut of legal commercial marijuana in WA. The growers cannot even make back their investment. No one is going to buy legal marijuana when they can buy from their same old source at a much lower price.

The market was good when the law was new and there weren’t that many stores open. Now, no one is getting rich and all those people who cried for years about legalizing marijuana, now want the Feds to come in and shut down all the home growers and there are lots of licensed home growers.I have a friend who has a license that allows her to have 50lbs of marijuana at home at anyone time.
