ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis filed for bankruptcy protection on Friday, saying it's the best way for the church to get as many resources as possible to victims of clergy sexual abuse. "We're doing the right thing," the Rev. Charles Lachowitzer told The Associated Press in an interview in advance of Friday's filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. "This decision reflects the end of a process of putting victims first." The archdiocese is the 12th U.S. diocese to seek bankruptcy protection in the face of sex abuse claims. Church leaders have said for months that bankruptcy was an option, as the archdiocese faces the potential for dozens of lawsuits by victims of clergy sex abuse. Lawsuits filed by victims would be put on hold while the bankruptcy case is pending.

Has anyone else heard that a disproportionate number of child sex abuse cases in the Catholic Church were homosexual priests abusing boys and young men? Why has this fact not been a bad reflection on the homosexual community?

Thats been frustrating that the homo community gets a total pass, as a matter of fact Catholics are criticized for not being more inviting to gay clergy etc.

What? Kicking and screaming, you liar. False doctrine breeds corruption.

I have steadfastly believed that the worst possible "solution" to the underlying problem is to force parishioners, nationwide, to pay for the crimes of the clergy.

I wonder how many Catholics, like myself, retired to more rational spiritual pastures as a result?

Hmm. I wonder how much money they shifted out of the diocese accounts before declaring bankruptcy. In Milwaukee they put $57 million into a trust for cemetery maintenance—way more than required to maintain the cemeteries in perpetuity—then declared bankruptcy.

You didn’t get the memo?

See, these men are pedophiles’ not “gay”.

Just because they preyed on little boys doesn’t they are gay; you intolerant, homophobic, right wing, Nazi bastard.

Yea, and I’m the Easter Bunny...
