PETER HITCHENS: The sinister, screeching mob who want to kill free speech (And no, I DON'T mean the

We were told on Friday that ‘politicians from all sides’ had lined up to attack Ukip’s Nigel Farage for supposedly ‘exploiting’ the Paris massacre.

Mr Farage had (quite reasonably) pointed out that the presence of Islamist fanatics in our midst might have something to do with, a) uncontrolled mass migration from the Muslim world, and b) decades of multicultural refusal to integrate them into our laws and customs.

Rather than disputing this with facts and logic (admittedly this would be hard), the three ‘mainstream’ parties joined in screeching condemnation.

The Prime Minister, whose government was busy exploiting the tragedy to shore up the (already vast) snooping powers of the State, said it was not the day to make political arguments.

Why ever not? What could be more political than discussing how to defend ourselves against this sort of crime? If it is not political, then why is he talking about it at all, instead of leaving the matter to the Archbishop of Canterbury?

< snip >

This is a double paradox. The French National Front exists mainly because a perfectly reasonable concern about mass immigration was sneeringly dismissed by the mainstream French parties. Something similar is happening in Germany, where large demonstrations against ‘the Islamisation of the West’ in many cities have been scornfully attacked by that country’s elite.

If reasonable calls for restrictions on immigration had been heeded when they were first made, right across Europe, would we now be in the mess we are in? If it is officially regarded as irresponsible, or ‘exploitation’, or ‘sickening’, or ‘divisive’ to say this, then we do not live in freedom, and those who claim to speak in its name are not telling the truth.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi delivered a possibly epochal speech at Al-Azhar University on New Year's Day. More than a thousand years old, Al-Azhar is considered by many to be the epicenter of scholarly Islam. Addressing the assemblage of imams in the room, al-Sisi called for a "religious revolution" in which Muslim clerics take the lead in rethinking the direction Islam has taken recently. An excerpt (as translated by Raymon Ibrahim's website):

"I am referring here to the religious clerics (said Al Sisi). … It's inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire umma (Islamic world) to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible!

"That thinking — I am not saying 'religion' but 'thinking' — that corpus of texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the centuries, to the point that departing from them has become almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world. It's antagonizing the entire world! ... All this that I am telling you, you cannot feel it if you remain trapped within this mindset. You need to step outside of yourselves to be able to observe it and reflect on it from a more enlightened perspective. "I say and repeat again that we are in need of a religious revolution. You, imams, are responsible before Allah. The entire world, I say it again, the entire world is waiting for your next move … because this umma is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost — and it is being lost by our own hands."

The courage of president, Al- Sisi, put him on par to Anwar Sadat among the greatest leaders of the Muslim world.

That is in stark contrast with Obama, our taqiyya Muslim president, who has never condemned the “Islamic terrorists” as such. He is a de facto enabler of the Islamic terrorism; otherwise he would never set free the worst of the worst Islamic terrorists that were imprisoned in Gitmo. Obama absence from the show of support for the people of France in the Paris’ demonstration of solidarity against terrorism, a united rally where most of the important leaders of the world were present, makes it clear here his heart is.

If you are to stupid to name your enemy, you are doomed to lose.

Successful shelters for the poor and homeless require those who sleep and eat there to follow certain simple rules-- no alcohol, drugs, maybe listen to a sermon or do a little work in return, be it mopping the floor or sorting through used clothing donations.

Those that don't last only until the government money or donations are exhausted, which is generally soon.

Nations with unrestricted immigration suffer the same fate as shelters without or with lax rules. It is as simple as that.

Muslims aren’t the enemy of liberals. They are the tool of liberals. Why would any mechanic break his own tools?

People will eventually realize there are not good and evil muslims. There are muslims and those that enable them like a WW2 French collaborator.

That [al-Sisi's speech] is in stark contrast with Obama, our taqiyya Muslim president, who has never condemned the “Islamic terrorists” as such.

"Obama, our taqiyya Muslim president..." A very accurate description, explained here:

taqiyya (تقیة taqiyyah/taqīyah) is a form of religious dissimulation,[1] or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution.[2] The corresponding concept in Sunni Islam is known as idtirar (إضطرار) "coercion". A related concept is known as kitman "concealment; dissimulation by omission". Also related is the concept of ḥiyal, legalistic deception practiced not necessarily in a religious context but to gain political or legalistic advantage.
