The Federalist ^ | 1-7-15 | Greg Scandlen

I switched cable providers, and the new one inexplicably lacks Fox News. Although Fox isn’t perfect, I’m suffering.

CNN and MSNBC are one-sided, boring, and have poorer technical value than Fox News Channel. When you are forced to actually sit and watch them for an extended period of time (because nothing else is available), you start to realize just how bad CNN and MSNBC really are.

No news is good news. I don’t watch any of them. All I need to know about what’s going on in the world can be found right here.

I’d love to see the ratings for the cable news channels since Fox has been kicked off of Dish. You’d think Fox’s rating would be down, but they don’t seem to be in a hurry to return to Dish.

They are horrible! I don’t have any of the cable news channels at my house and have not watched them for years. I recently joined a really nice health club, and they have flat screens in the locker rooms. The other day they had CNN on and I had to listen to some women going on and on... And ON... About the Asian airliner, asking the most asinine questions. And I realized this is what you get when you have a 24 hour news channel that has run out of stuff to say and is just puking out garbage to fill space. You could actually hear the desperation in her voice as she grilled her two guests, and I could almost sense that she was thinking, “God, four minutes to commercial break... It’s an eternity!.”

You can get more real news from Free Republic headers on your cellphone while waiting at a red light than watching all the TV channels for a whole day, including Fox.

Well, it's easy to explain the advantages in technical values that Fox has over the others. You make money in the broadcasting biz when you have viewers, and Fox beats the snot outta all of its competitors on that front. When you make money, you can afford things: talent, land, equipment, and whatever else it takes to excel.

Liberals should understand that this principle also applies in other areas, too. For example, wealthy societies can afford rules and limitations on enterprise to protect the environment that poorer ones cannot. Compare the environmental conditions in East and West Germany when the wall fell for a shining example of this.

Greenies should fully support capitalism for this reason, but many of them don't. I think that says something.

I agree this is a good or better alternative to Fox.
I just moved to another state and it is part of my cable plan.

... and that's if you are only scanning the headlines noted "Semi-Satire News" that John Semmens posts!

If you pay for bundled tv, you financially support the enemy. Your choice.

I turned off cable TV over a year ago and I have watched at least 1000 less commercials since! I don’t miss Fox News at all. They would always put liberals on and let them go Blah, Blah, and Blah. I got so sick of it.
It is a wonderful feeling of freedom now with a smart TV and old Republican movies on DVD...
