Senate environment panel to hit EPA regulations early and often

Sen. Jim Inhofe said he plans to use a legislative maneuver that would allow rejection of environmental regulations by majority vote to take whacks at President Obama's agenda, signaling a contentious two years between the White House and Congress with the Oklahoma Republican helming the Environment and Public Works Committee.

Inhofe said he intends to use the Congressional Review Act to strike down a proposed rule limiting carbon emissions from power plants along with other regulations once they are finalized. Any attempt to do so, however, almost certainly would be vetoed by Obama, who has said he plans to protect his environmental and climate policies.

"It's not just all that partisan," Inhofe told reporters Wednesday. "Democrats and Republicans alike will go home and people will yell and scream about a regulation and you say, 'Well, we can't do anything about that. That was done then by the administration.' But they can do something about it now. They can pass legislation or they can use the [Congressional Review Act], and we plan to use the [Congressional Review Act]."

Senator Inhofe is the real deal.

If you've been able to watch him over the past couple of years on CSPAN, you'll find he doesn't buy into the global warming hoax.

Yay, at least some good news today.

President Cruz should abolish the EPA.

I took the liberty of editing your post to fix it. President Nixon established the EPA via executive order to implement the various congressional laws regarding pollution but they have far exceeded their power. Presidential orders in general have been abused and should be severely curbed in the in the future!

The EPA is the defacto king of the 4th branch of gov’t, the regulatory branch.

I agree. Abolish them, then prohibit their employees from any future public employment.

In our once FreeRepublic, a congress of reps and states possessed limited power to make law.

Today, a pitiful congress of mostly climbers and demagogues occasionally stop unconstitutional regulations/laws issued by subsidiary bureaucracies of the president. Free government has been turned on its head.

The sooner Americans realize that voting was relevant in a distant time in a federal republic, that today it is just a courtesy designed to deceive us into thinking we are a self-governing people, only then can we begin to deal with our slide into absolute tyranny.

Good for Inhofe. His efforts and those of a few others in opposition to Uniparty tyranny will amount to nothing.

“......legislative maneuver that would allow rejection of environmental regulations”......

Don’t hold your breath that anything will come of that. More likely a un-attainable promise.

It would be good news if, instead of “hitting EPA regulations”, the GOP would repeal the unconstitutional laws that are the cause of those regulations, but that’s a lot to expect.

Uniparty??? Last I looked, Inhofe was a Republican. He and his party are the ones opposing the Obama regulations.
