Settling in as majority whip, Cornyn huddles with Cruz, hits Obama for stubbornness
The Dallas Morning News ^ | January 7, 2015 | Todd J. Gillman

On his first full day as deputy leader of the Senate majority, Texan John Cornyn blasted the president for ignoring public demands to collaborate more, and said he works far more closely with Sen. Ted Cruz than many people realize.

“We don’t really know yet how constructive President Obama intends to be,” Cornyn said, adding that this week’s “premature” threat to veto the Keystone XL pipeline doesn’t bode well. “The American people said in this last election on Nov. 4 that they are pretty disgusted with the status quo here in Washington.”

Obama has invited congressional leaders from both parties to the White House next week. Cornyn said he’d like a more productive meeting than the one Obama convened after the November elections.

“It was more of a one-sided lecture than it was a discussion,” Cornyn said. This time, he added, “I hope the president will allow a genuine discussion and exchange of ideas in looking for common ground…. We know where we disagree.”

Cornyn has served as GOP whip for the last two years. As of noon on Tuesday, Republicans held the majority....

Translation: He knows that Ted Cruz is very likely the next president of the United States and doesn't want to get, or appear to be, on his bad side.

The two of them are huddling? Makes sense in that there is a vote coming up on keystone and Texas plays a major role in this.

I think you're dreaming. But of course I have the same dream every night so I understand.

John may be stupid, but he’s not so stupid that he doesn’t realize where the future lies.

I will raise $2million dollars to make that “dream” a reality from my little trailer when I’m not earning a living. What will you all do?

You can raise 2 trillion bucks every day for TC, but it is not happening.

The GOPe will not allow it.

Lets pretend that TC miraculously gets the nomination, the MSM has their lines prepared to butcher him dead.

Ted Cruz for POTUS in 2016 bump!

Here's a challenge for the Republican leadership: If nobama starts on one of his tirades like he did last November, get up and leave in protest.

Of course they won't. There's maybe 1/5 of one conjone among the whole bunch.

“The American people said in this last election on Nov. 4 that they are pretty disgusted with the status quo here in Washington.”

Indeed, yet from that day forward that message has been ignored by the GOP. If there was any remaining doubt, the GOP proved that they didn’t give a damn about what We the People think during yesterdays vote for Boner.

John Cornyn, a POS, doesn’t deserve to have his name even mentioned in the same breath with Ted Cruz.

Unlike the House Boehner-supporters, it seems that Cornyn has read the election results and has taken them to heart.

I am glad that John Cornyn has made this realization.

Ted Cruz has just become more powerful.

It is a different time. The left is far more powerful in both parties, and in the media.

It is never too early to prepare for more disappointment.

I have complete faith in your commitment and I believe you will be successful with that goal. However, I see yesterday’s votes as the last straw for the GOP. I am no longer convinced that we can get our country back with just a ballot.

I pray that I am wrong, but I think we lost 2016 yesterday....the GOP just gave it all away.

Anyway, I want you to be successful and I wish you the best.

"We don’t really know yet how constructive President Obama intends to be,” Cornyn said...

Well then start paying attention, John;
the rest of us know Obama has not intention whatsoever of being constructive!

Cornyn should shove the Keystone pipe line up King Obama butt. Force the President to reject the will of the people and in the King veto's he warns the rest of the Democrats in the Senate that to rebel overturning the veto will result in a hard concentrated effort to kick them out of the Senate. Get tough down and dirty.

Slow John doesn’t know if Obama will work with the Republicans. He should be ashamed to admit his abject ignorance.
