Funeral services for former Gov. Mario Cuomo are being planned for Tuesday at the Saint Ignatius Loyola Church on Park Avenue in Manhattan, a church official told the Daily News.

A time for the service has not been determined but the funeral is likely to cause a week's postponment of the State of the Address, which had been planned for Wednesday, two sources said.

Another source said Cuomo administration officials have asked the Empire State Plaza Convention Center, where the speech was to be held, to keep time availabe for the re-scheduled speech the week of Jan. 12.

Officials in Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office could not immediately comment. Further funeral arrangements have also not yet been announced by Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office.

Earlier Friday, Matilda Cuomo, the wife of Mario Cuomo, was spotted by reporters entering the Frank E. Cambell funeral home in Manhattan

Another opportunity for the media to demonstrate how much we all love socialism by reminding us how much we all loved Mario Cuomo.

Jebbies just lost their anti-Pope.

Meanwhile, who has been delegated to spit on the casket and pray for Mario's Pharisee soul?

“I thought Cuomo supported abortion?”

Back in the 1980s he practically invented the “I personally oppose abortion but don’t want to impose my view on others” BS.

Can’t vouch for the claim, personally, but the “talk of the town” in the late 70’s was that Andrew, himself, was behind the slogan . . .

I wonder if this will be a Paul Wellstone type mosh pit, or a Tim Russert type networking red carpet photo opportunity.

What a guy. Morals and values matter not when one’s personal wealth or power is at stake.

But hey, go to church when the cameras are on during campaigns, your wedding and your funeral

What an embarrassing bunch of losers politicians are

His most egregious move was to veto the death penalty every year all 12 years he was in office.

Literally thousands were murdered as criminals felt it better not to leave any witnesses since they didn’t have to worry about a capital charge, it became a free murder(s).

This is the main reason he was voted out in his 4th run for Governor, over 2200 murders a year.

A real piece of work, and his son isn’t any better.

The death penalty was signed by Pataki, and the murder rate was halved within 18 months.

I thought Cuomo supported abortion?

You thought correctly. But he gave a big speech at the Democratic Convention of 1984 wherein he announced that he was "personally opposed" to shredding the helpless bodies of innocent human beings in the womb—but that he couldn't bring himself to force this view on other people. So he felt free to promote abortion as viciously as possible as a politician. The very definition of culpable hypocrisy. Hence, "Pharisee."

Legions of baptized Catholic politicians have gone to their reward—unfortunately, probably a very warm one—following the siren call of this reptilian speech. It was the foundational moment whereby the Democrats could unite the lunatic feminist and sexual libertine factions of their party with the Communist labor-union faction, which had been inconveniently pro-life. Meanwhile, to keep the blacks on the Democratic plantation, it has been necessary to up the welfare ante to the stratosphere, since blacks tend to be more pro-life than whites.

Why are the Jesuits all over this man's corpse? The Jesuit order since 1900 or so has been undermined by woozy heretics who have been too smarty-pants for our own good. From their superiors on down, they have grown to support every type of Left-wing evil they could get their hands on—fornication, homosexuality, treason, Communist revolution, floppy, casual liturgy, etc.—because as intellectuals, they felt they were just too smart for virtue. The handful of great Jesuit priests are persecuted by their superiors, and the good young ones are strategically quiet as they make their way through the seminaries.

The Cuomo funeral will be a Blood-Soaked Hypocrites' Convention to tempt the thunderbolts.

No, the “I personally oppose abortion but don’t want to impose my view on others” position was first publicly unveiled by Ted Kennedy, then Jimmy Carter circa 1979.

Actually it traces back before that, to a group of Jesuit clergy (Frs. Charles Curran, Robert Drinan, Joseph Fuchs, Richard McCormick, Giles Milhaven, maybe others) loosely connected with Boston College in the early 1960s.

It was settled Democrat doctrine by the time Mario Cuomo got around to it.

Doesn’t seem to be the case. It is associated with Mario Cuomo most:
