You just have to accept that “queer” DOESN’T mean “strange” or “odd,” and “gay” DOESN’T mean “happy” or “cheerful.” Not anymore.

That’s just the way it is.

On the other hand, if you enjoy banging your head against a wall...

You can talk about queer literature and that’s fine (as an example). Apparently, “queer” is frowned upon as a derogatory comment.

What Lee and Bill said. The damage is done (though it sounds to me like they may have been lying in wait for you). It’s likely impossible now for you to work for that company *unless* you make the company admit that IT acted improperly by not traing you properly, giving you a chance to implement the training properly, etc. PLEASE spend the dollars and consult with a lawyer. It will be money well spent.

Sue him for sexual harassment.

HE wants to talk about his sexual activities and force you to listen. That is a molestation of you by him.

Sue him big time!

They’ve learned well where the weaknesses of worldly America are.

You might see if you can find a conservative Christian attorney, although those are as scarce as hen’s teeth. And say a prayer for God to prevail. God hates this junk even worse then you do.

At the same time this could be a providential litmus test of where your bosses are. If they are in the grip of this abomination you might be better to agree to go for the sake of making peace. With the help of an attorney if possible.

Anyhow, the attorney can argue things on your behalf that your bosses would never accept from you. That is one advantage of having him go to bat for you.

“Yes, we’re now here

but we aren’t being queer

We’ll soon be out of here”

If that is really what you said verbatim then I have no idea how this thin skinned coward could make a case of it. It wasn’t overtly negative toward homosexuals. It sounds like the things we used to make up on the playground that needed extreme poetic license to force rhymes into. He and those backing him up are fishing and they are using some really unconvincing bait.

Even if you make the assumption that “queer” means “homosexual” (and there were many similar rhymes made up in past generations when such assumptions would have been inappropriate), then what you said was merely that you are straight. Is this person insisting that your being straight is an affront to him?

Any good lawyer should be able to build a defense for you out of this thin, peevish complaint against you.

I would definitely get an attorney involved, though. However sick and petty these people may be, they are organized and they are dangerous. Win your case and then polish your resume. You don’t need this.

P.S. where in the world ARE you and what is your professional line of business?

Let me let you in on a secret... big transportation companies. Trains. Trucks. They often have good rednecks as bosses and they don’t put up with that kind of nonsense.

What you do when accused of something that didn’t happen?..

1) get irate... over being bullied..
2) be shocked...
3) make accusations that are TRUE?..
4) Your words WERE RAPED... and battered..
5) demand an apology.. don’t ask for one..

** else you will be bullied some more..
unless you are a coward.. then grovel..

I don’t agree. First the word queer has been hijacked by gays. It appears that u made a bad spur of the moment rhyme in a private conversation that had nothing to do with homosexuality. This young man overheard a private conversation and assumed u were using the word queer in a derogatory way and took offense. To which u then apologized that he was offended by a remark that was misunderstood and not even intended for his ears. How does that make you guilty. It makes u considerate in trying to explain what really occurred. The guy is being over sensitive and ridiculously dramatic. How can he deem something unforgiveable. If it were me I would tell the truth and allow this young man with a chip to tell his harrowing tale and hang his sniveling self. Document everything that is said and done then u call an attorney if they punish u in some way. I was never disrespectful toward a gay man at my work yet he felt my being a Christian was offensive so he would draw pictures of me with a pig face and cross and when I mentioned it to my boss she ignored it?

Yea, Looks like you’re queered at this company, look for another. Even so, don’t resign, if they make threats bring your lawyer and the both of you come in wearing red “power” ties. Out gay them, lol.

There are folks who live to be offended. Some years ago, a DC govt employee faced a similar situation for having used the word niggardly.

Sodomites do not own the word queer.

There is more than one meaning to the word.

You were also using it because of the different definition and it rhymed.

How about the right not to be taken out of context? How about not forgiving someone for a misunderstanding YOU have about what they were saying?

Perhaps you could mention how difficult the company makes it to be a productive work environment when it fosters a climate where there are people who are actively looking for anything remotely “offensive” to them, including taking things not directed at them entirely out of context. Then refusing an apology for their taking said thing out of context. Special classes of workers over others is not a great workplace model. Nobody appears to care about offending you.

I think I’d try to reframe the issue on the above themes. May not work but beats sucking up to libtard policies and some homo with a stick up his ass just looking for something to be offended at. Might give them something to think about.

If they do anything negative to you I would definitely contact legal groups like Liberty Counsel and Alliance Defense Fund.

Stand your ground. Do not compromise.

If you lose your job as a result of this, trust God to provide your needs through another job.

It does look like the intended meaning of queer would be something like “glutton for punishment” or “masochist.”

Pray, pray, pray, and pray some more. Only God can loosen this kind of demonic grip.

Dunno. I know in the guys’ rhyme it seems like he was using it to indicate they weren’t doing anything strange or unusual.

I also think the guy ought to mention since when is it required that straight people know all the words gays have hijacked into their homo-lexicon? What homosexual even uses the term queer anymore? It’s ridiculous. When did the older non-homo definitions of the word disappear? THAT would be one I would pose to the company. Since when are they the arbiters of language? When a word has more than one meaning, where does the company have the power to say what definitions exist? That really isn’t in their power.

Which in a properly Dilbertian context would be, once more, glutton for punishment.

To be honest I wonder if this guy was hit on by the homo in the company at some point and told him to go away.

I had a buddy - straight - who was hit on by a homo at a company we worked at for awhile. Several times. Couldn’t get “no” through his head. Worked to get him fired at the first opportunity. And eventually did. blew something way out of context.
