DEBRIS SPOTTED OFF INDONESIA COAST, POSSIBLE LINK TO AIRASIA

Several pieces of debris have been spotted floating in the sea off Borneo island, possibly linked to the missing AirAsia jetliner, an Indonesia National Search and Rescue spokesman said Tuesday.

Yusuf Latif said an Indonesian military aircraft saw white, red and black objects, including what appears to be a life jacket, off the coast, about 105 miles (170 kilometers) south of Pangkalan Bun.

He said the agency has dispatched at least one helicopter to pick up at least 10 pieces of debris to be checked. The items will be taken to the search and rescue coordination post on Belitung Island.

"This is the most significant finding, but we cannot confirm anything until the investigation is completed," he said.

The plane with 162 people on board disappeared Sunday on its way from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore after encountering storm clouds.

“Yusuf Latif said an Indonesian military aircraft saw white, red and black objects, including what appears to be a life jacket, off the coast, about 105 miles (170 kilometers) south of Pangkalan Bun.”

Wait a minute, are they saying that the life jacket under your airplane seat is really of no use?

I read an article earlier that they were investigating a fire on a small island in the flight path. Has anybody seen any updates on that?

I’m not getting excited about it yet. I give it till Wednesday, for the authorities to say this has no relation to the missing plane. I hope I’m wrong. I cannot imagine what the people of that region are thinking. I’ll bet more than a few refuse to believe all these vanishing giant planes are just accidental. Remember last March, when some statesman said “Flight 370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean” That has to be the understatement of the year. That was their way of saying we are done looking for it.

It’s of no use if your plane nose dives into the ocean at 120mph.

The understatement of the year came from the White Hut

“If you like your MH 370 , you can keep your MH 370 “

Would it profit you to have a portable parachute strapped to your body during the flight? Could you manage to even get clear of the plane before crashing?

They’re supposed to give the passengers a sense of security.

Ask D. B. Cooper — he’s the expert on that type of emergency egress.
