Gowdy is “mostly” a true conservative and for those areas I commend him. But in the heady days of 2013 when the Chamber of Commerce GOPe was riding high in anticipation of AMNESTY, Gowdy effectively “RUBIO’ed” himself with his AMNESTY advocacy — — and that was a deal breaker for me with him.

It galls me when a Republican or conservative starts talking about immigration reform. Then comes the equivocations that it’s not amnesty because they pay a fine, and it will take a long time, and they have to ‘work’ for it....blah, blah, blah.

When you year ANY of them start talking about immigration reform, they are telling you they care more about their positions of power, their DC offices and lifestyle more than they do about how our country is being overrun with criminals from other lands.

Something Mickey Kaus pointed out repeatedly at the end of 2010, when Reid & Co. were trying to shove the DREAM Act through a lame duck session of Congress, is that this is the stalking horse for comprehensive legislative amnesty.

Whenever you see someone like Gowdy-or any politician-advocating citizenship for DREAMers, they're effectively signing off on legal status for 15-20 million illegal aliens.
