How's about we do that for retired gov't employees, starting with ex-congresscritters & senators, instead. Don't screw over those who have actually served the country, take it out of the hides of the a-holes who have put us in the position we now find ourselves.

"It's a little radical..."

You don't know what radical is, MF, if you start messing with my benefits. Benefits I EARNED , unlike your Medicaid mamas and Welfare PsOS.

I think you are right

Alternatively, the Rivlen skank is urging the planned phase two implementation before phase one is successful. Being anal retentive, she is insisting on sticking to the secret phased implementation schedule even while phase one is falling apart.

I wouldn’t wet my pants over this too much. People can propose whatever they want—it still takes an act of Congress.

Of course, these daze, who knows what Obama can do with his pen and his phone.

Amen!!!

Start by getting rid of Obamacare and put the same amount of money they wasted on Obamacare into Tricare and everything is solved!!!

One of the first bills that the new congress and senate should send to Obama is a single item:

No one is exempt from Obamacare.

‘Tapping into resources offered by civilian health care’?

Ok

Breaching a contract made with retirees, increasing cost of living to active duty by tens of thousands per year

If congress doesn’t start coming up with some plans to stop ...

This smells of that Paul Ryan. Who singly makes it clear a vote for Romney was a vote for a liberal

Are you saying that you already paid money for Tricare insurance years ago? Or do you mean instead that the benefit of Tricare insurance is due to you because of prior military service?

And the administration knows that Congress is less likely to cut a program that would “benefit” millions of military dependents and retirees. One more way to ensure continued funding for the train wreck called Obamacare.

One point that is always missed in these arguments. The average person leaving the military isn’t a general, or even a Colonel; in fact; the average pay grade for someone retiring from the armed forces after 20 years is E-6. That equates to SSG in the Army and Marine Corps; TSgt in the USAF and PO1 in the Navy and Coast Guard.

What’s the average monthly retirement check for someone who’s an E-6 retiring in 2014? Their monthly retirement check before taxes and other deductions (such as long-term care insurance and survivor benefit program) is $1,800 a month. Based on current rates, the Obamacare premium would consume most of their retirement pay.

Whether Medicare or Tricare, or even Social Security, the federal courts long ago ruled that there is no enforceable expectation that those programs will not change or even be abolished. I get the idea that you and almost everyone else needs and expects their federal benefits, but there is no right to expect them only to get bigger and better over the years. With unsustainable federal budget commitments, cutbacks and major changes are inevitable in coming years.

You're absolutely correct. It's really just a matter of how long will the markets continue to accept the fed bogus bucks.

Note that the decidedly leftist, often anti-American Brookings Institution is behind this.

Due to the dollar’s reserve currency status, US political, military, and economic strength, and the lack of safe alternative investments, the game is likely to go on for longer than most critics expect. For many foreign governments and central banks, buying US Treasuries is a good way to help assure that the US will come to their aid in a crisis.

It’s certainly gone on far longer than I expected.

But then again, I thought no POTUS could get re-elected with 8% unemployment (13% real), $4 gas, surging food prices, and trillion dollar deficits to the end of time.
