Idris Elba Could Be Next James Bond According To Leaked E-Mails December 20, 2014
British actor Idris Elba could be the first black James Bond, according to more leaked e-mails from Sony Pictures.
“Idris should be the next Bond,” Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal wrote nearly a year ago in an e-mail to Elizabeth Cantillon, a former executive vice president at Columbia Pictures.
The leaked e-mail, reported by the Daily Beast, is from a trove of private e-mails, salary reports and bits of script and rough footage swiped and released by hackers believed to be from North Korea.

It is extremely rare for blacks to reach the elite of such types though, for instance although they are over represented in the military, only about 1.5% of Special Operations units are black.

I spent over 20 years in the US Air Force. Never saw but two black pilots, Chappie James and one black helicopter pilot. There had to be more, but I never saw them. Never saw the first black doctor. There were plenty of blacks in all other Air Force specialties, except Air Traffic Control, Combat Control, Para Rescue, and aircraft avionics. I always wondered why. Anyone have any ideas. I have my own but they might not be PC so I’ll keep them to myself.
With all these blacks playing white characters, when will we see Clint Eastwood playing Nelson Mandela, or a good looking blonde playing Billy Holiday. The answer. NEVER. It’s utter stupidity the exact same way it was stupid to have that loudmouth racist Samuel L. Jackson playing Kojak.
I was basically done with Bond films after Sean Connery. Especially after Roger Moore turned them into light comedies.
Have you heard about the new Marvin Hagler biopic starring Mark Walberg? I didn’t think so.
Idris Elba- he’s a black British actor. He was in the police/crime series “The Wire”, set in Baltimore. He was great in his role in The Wire but I don’t see him being James Bond.

It is uncomfortable to speculate on the reasons but elite combat units require so much more than just athletic ability, it requires intelligence, a true individual inner courage, and true personal toughness, not just in a sports sense, but in dealing with being wet and cold and hungry for days at a time, the individual must have a doggedness to complete the mission and overcome obstacles, a complete sense of personal responsibility and commitment to always achieving the mission goals.
Those of us who served in ground units and loved the night, have even noticed the discomfort of some, who don’t like the night, and don’t like the woods, and of course water, and they really don’t like all of those things together at once, for instance stepping into deep water in pitch dark, fully clothed and equipped.
An HBO series. I watched it on Amazon Prime, which has paid for itself several times over just on the shipping. The TV/Movie part is essentially a bonus.

The AF specialties I listed as not having too many blacks are also the specialties that require the highest scores on AFQT. Just about all the PJs and combat controllers have historically some of the highest qualification scores in the Air Force. Then they go through some of the most rigorous training in the military and very few make the cut. Nothing needs to be really said for Air Traffic Controllers, they’re all brilliant and have nerves of steel. I am not saying that blacks can not perform in these highly technical and stressful specialties, but on the average that’s the way it’s always been in the military. Of course there are exceptions to this, but when I served those were my observations.
