Those mean old conservatives at Walmart! Oh, wait...that was probably a liberal. In that case, those greedy capitalist kids!

We know how the world is now, don’t set the kids up to be treated that way! Whoever is organizing the caroling must do a better job of finding out if the work place will allow this. Never mind being all hurt and surprised. Get authorization first, and still prepare the kids that this might be interrupted. Don’t just take the word of a cashier. Get a manager’s word in writing. Someone did not perform due diligence.

Good riddance! two things come to mind, first of all, despite what the Christian supremacists think, there are many belief systems out there besides Christianity. Second, this is very disruptive to the many cashiers already stressful jobs. Can you imagine trying to count back change or ring things up with this nonsense going on. Walmart already lets the Salvation Army bother people going in and out of the store. I am sure if these annoying little brats had asked for permission, they would have been permitted to sing somewhere in grocery or really anywhere else in the store but to just show up in front of the busy registers and start belting it out, of course they were told to leave.

The kids probably thought it would be fun and were excited to partake in and renew an old tradition that might make some folks smile. What a puking shame that the hypersensitives with all of this “concern” for the feelings of a few Christmas athiests can pour dark clouds over such a simple act.

Yes, I said the foul word - Christmas!! Now it’s just a “holiday” and we shouldn’t ask why. It doesn’t matter anymore, it’s a marketing holiday in which you must go spend money and give gifts and feed the atheist economy. Isn’t that enough?

Enjoy those “holiday” parties. I’ve had to attend two of them at my place of work. One of them had a live “band” singing old 6O’s music instead of Christmas carols because they just aren’t PC anymore. I am so tired of all this crap I could just scream. Aaaaaaagh!!! In the liberal multi-culti PC global community no one can hear you scream!

Probably more to the story....this town is very conservative and would not chase away the carolers.....have heard the store was undergoing a missing child exercise (Code Adam) and the singing was interrupting the procedure. No one at the local wmart would chase away the singers.

Why a Walmart? Why not go to a hospital or old folk’s home and cheer them up with some carols?

I was getting out of my car in a Publix parking lot and a woman employee was singing”Joy to the World” to, presumably, a customer a few cars over. Very nice voice and a wonderful treat for all within earshot.

(UPDATE: 12:20PM)
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. —

An effort to spread Christmas joy was dampened at the Klamath Falls Walmart Thursday evening. But the Henley High School choir says it was all a misunderstanding and they have no hard feelings.

According to the high school principal, the choir teacher reached out to Walmart days in advance and received permission to sing. But principal Jack Lee said that apparently the manager who gave that permission was not present at the time of the flash mob. Another employee was in charge temporarily. During that time, some children became separated from their parent(s). A “Code Adam” was announced over the loud speaker, but the singing was overpowering the person-in-charge’s ability to communicate over the loud speaker that children were missing. That is apparently when the kids were told to leave. Some parents were unhappy with the way the incident unfolded. On cell phone video of the performance, one woman is heard exclaiming that “they’re calling law enforcement.” The principal says they were “shocked” but knew there was just a breakdown of communication. Walmart representatives from Arizona were the only people who could speak to Walmart’s version of events and could not confirm if law enforcement were going to be called on the choir or to help find the missing kids. (They were found safe moments later).

Lee spoke with the store manager Kelley Cooper today. She apologized for the miscommunication. She welcomed the kids back anytime and Lee said the manager offers groups like this to sing and have cookies with open arms. The school is taking the store up on its offer immediately, as an effort to show there are no hard feelings. Members of the choir will be going by bus to Walmart at 12:40 Friday midday to perform again. Walmart representatives say they believe the situation could have been handled differently.

Christians should simply stop shopping and the celebration of Jesus birth should be a religious observance. This orgy of buying material things is way over the top. Get together with your family, if it isn’t too costly, and let that be the gift. There is no need for adding more debt on the credit card, which sets a terrible example for the next generation.

bert’s analysis.....

Un stated was the lawsuit brought by carolers at the ????? Walmart after an attack by a disgruntled customer harmed two girls that were part of the group. The cost to defend and then settle the law suit brought by one of the girls prompted the general rule against such activity within the stores.

The store has a right to determine if anyone walks around singing in their store.

But would they bow down and kiss bearded savage a$$ if a bunch of towelheads came into the store and did one of their moon god rituals?

If they all went in there with their hand up, the carolers would have been welcomed with open arms.

Erasing the Christian spirit from commerce turns Christmas into a purely materialistic, unethical venture. No thanks. Stop shopping with the gimme animals.

Shop on the internet with Christmas music in the background and the love of Christ in your heart.

Seriously, caroling is well and good and appreciated by many, and while carolers can approach a private home unexpectedly, to approach a business it is always polite to call ahead.

Many businesses love carolers, and if called ahead of time will even go out of their way to be friendly with them. But just showing up fills many managers with trepidation and anxiety.

And this goes even further with Wal-Mart, because it is extremely “top down” in its management, so much so that the temperature inside every Wal-Mart is controlled by its company headquarters. So were the carolers to call Wal-Mart first, their store manager would *have* to call their headquarters, and only if they approved (which they might), would he be comfortable with it.

Wal-Mart generally loves Salvation Army bell ringers, for example, so they are not just faceless corporate types.
