For the past week, Sen. Harry Reid has worked hard to prevent a vote on President Obamas illegal executive amnesty. [snip]
Only one month ago President Obama announced amnesty for roughly five million people here illegally. He did so in defiance of the manifest will of the voters [snip]
[snip]
Even more troubling was how the amnesty was decreed: by executive fiat, directly contrary to federal immigration law and to the Constitution. [snip]
[snip]
If Congress does nothing in response, we acquiesce to this constitutional crisis.
[snip]
Some critics have disingenuously suggested that, by fighting on amnesty, we somehow facilitated these Obama nominations. Thats nonsense; Harry Reid had announced a week earlier he was going to force through every one of these bad nominationsfrom an unqualified and extreme surgeon general to the new head of immigration enforcement who has pledged to uphold Obamas amnestyand there is no doubt he would have done the exact same thing on Monday and Tuesday, with the very same result. [snip]
Finally, late Saturday night . . . we forced a vote on the constitutionality of executive amnesty. Had we acquiesced, had we waited until Monday, Reid could have held the floor and blocked the vote.
So what was accomplished? First, every single Senate Democrat is now on the record in support of President Obamas illegal amnesty. No fewer than a dozen Democrats had previously criticized that amnesty; now their positions are unambiguous for the voters.
That matters, as we discovered this past November.
Second, 22 Republicans voted in support of my constitutional point of order. This comprised a majority of the Republicans voting, and (not coincidentally) most of the Republicans up for reelection in 2016.

Statement from Ted Cruz, a good summary to counter the lies.
I’m waiting for his comments on normalizing relations with Cuba... gonna be REAL good.
I can’t wait! Rubio’s response was good, but Cruz’s will be a lot better, guaranteed.
Cruz is the right antidote to the slow-acting poison of Statism.
Five million my...
If anyone has a link or a list of the 22 YES, the 3 who Didn't vote and the NO votes please post it. We need to keep track of the good guys and the bad guys in the Senate.
Rubio's was immediate, which means it was probably from the heart and a deeply held belief. FWIW, except for being played so badly by Schumer and McCain on immigration, Rubio is shining as a constitutional conservative, on par with Cruz, Lee, and Jeff Sessions.
Much thanks.

Cruz is not only acting with courage, but he is playing A LONG GAME...
It’s so important to remember this in what and how Cruz does or does not do...it is about the long game.....he’s setting the base he’ll be working from and rightly so. But there will sometimes be things we may not understand at the time we will later on.
IMO He’s doing exactly as he should...it’s not necessarily
winning” though of course shooting for that too...it’s about what is ahead after January and beyond....
I’ll just keep trusting the Lord for Cruz in what he determines....I do not expect perfection.
Cruz was just on with Cavuto and did a much better job. Shredded Hillary, too, something you won’t see Rubio doing.
I made a RALLY thread for Cruz (where’s yours? :)
