I think that if you discount liberal media, politicos, RINOs and the like, Warren's appeal outside that state is not significant by any means.

Cruz, on the other hand, enjoys very substantial support both in Texas, and outside of it. I would also add that support for Cruz is based from a position of love of freedom, the US Constitution and the rule of law.

Warren's supporters are about sloth, jealousy, and entitlement.

This is why you are seeing so many attacks on Cruz now - from everywhere. They, his opponents, can play dirty with the best of them and lie, obfuscate and dissemble. They have not yet figured out how to fight him effectively and the only thing they can do is tear him down before that big snowball of disgust starts rolling down the hill - eventually unstoppable.

Right!! Another truth, Cruz didn't “shut down” the Federal government, the President did!! Why does the Republican leadership allow that lie to go uncalled. Wait, I think I know, self interest Politics!

I agree. I’ve seen people that are not really that political express appreciation for Cruz. I’ve seen the same for Carson. I think with a solid campaign behind him and a megaphone to speak directly to the American people Cruz would be able to really take command. Cruz has the right target audience and its not inside the beltway.

Your point on Cruz's popularity beyond Texas is well taken, as contrasted to that of Fauxcahontas. (Hat tip to Rush.)

I'd go a step farther; I wonder whether the boomlet for Pocahontas is actually an expression of the author's and chattering classes' distaste for bank grabbery, on the one hand, and their refusal to admit that Cruz is right on the other. So they go out and invent an alternative hero(ine) in Pocahontas and hand her the banner which was initially lofted by Cruz.

Cruz is a conservative. He must never, ever receive any sort of credit for anything.
