That is why I think and have thought that conservatives need to have their own national convention before the GOPE primaries begin.

The liberal trash the GOPE keeps nominating are not center right, they are liberals. If you think Romney and McCain are center right conservatives then your definition of liberals/conservatives is very liberal.

And the Insert latest democrat bogey man’s name here to scare conservatives into voting tactic is working less and less as we all know it is a lie as the GOPE does the same as the bogey man’s going to do, just little cheaper and a little slower, same result though.

I held my nose and abandoned my principles when I voted for McCain. Did it again for Romney. I will NOT do it again for Bush.

Write in Ted Cruz.

"I have no say."

In the 1964 primary and the 1980 primary, Calif put Goldwater and Reagan over the top.

Think about it.

I understand wanting to stick to your principles. I just have a hard time believing that Romney (wasn't even in my top-10 choices that year) would rape the country as bad as Obama, Jarrett, and Holder have.

Give me someone who is conservative on national defense, terrorism, immigration, and the 2nd amendment, will repeal Obamacare, and go from there.

That’s because the rest of the country put them at the top of the primaries. Sometimes, it is already decided even before we have voted in the California primary.

"OK, I find only 4% in this poll voting for someone that Free Republic has determined not to be a RINO or GOPe. Looks like we have an uphill fight."

They polled the general population and put the result out as relevant so as to hurt any insurgent campaign.

Let them poll likely primary voters. And, let's ALSO see what actual primary results are.

Cruz is likely to be the most surprising candidate since Obama 2008. Or Goldwater 1964, or Reagan 1980.

In the cases I cited, CA was decisive.

If Bush runs I will cast my vote as a write-in ballot for Mickey Mouse.

And, let's ALSO see what actual primary results are.

Like 2008? McCain, Huckabee and Romney the top three primary vote getters. Or 2012? Romney crushing 2nd place Paul. I love being optimistic, but I'm also a realist. If conservatives are the base of the present GOP, it is an inverted pyramid.

“Revenge”? For what?

More like "provenge" ..... They don't want a repeat of 1994, with all kinds of neo-Jeffersonian Southern Conservative mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers running around thinking they won something.

It's a staple of Atlantic Slope e-GOPery that Southern = Ku Klux Klan. It's not true, but it's a metatruth that serves them as they perpetuate their death-grip on The Dying Party.

Their ideal candidate for anything is a milquetoast Rotarian server-waiter-timeclocker, if he is from a Southern or Midwestern State; if he's from the East Coast, the standards are a little higher: fine baritone speaking voice, look of eagles about the brow, Mittens Romney or John McPain "It's My Turn" politica. In other words, fine Privilege Academy presidential timber.

But ... let's say Jeb Bush DID get the GOP nomination in 2016. Would you vote for him? Or would you vote third party? Or would you decline that ballot altogether?

The entire Bush family are parasites. They have been taking money from local, state and federal coffers for decades. Even "W" profited off taxpayers money from things like the Texas Rangers stadium deal. George HW Bush and Babs have profited off their "public service". Neil Bush is another parasite of great magnitude ala Silverado S&L and other garbage like Ignite! where he did what the rest of the family has done and has taken middle eastern money. Most of the family capitalizes on their name and connections by getting themselves on company boards or obtaining insider equity they can turn for a big return. No more Bushes please! If they nominate this t*rd Jeb then why vote?

The Bushs have cut a deal with their heros the Clinton’s to run and lose..thus defeating conservatives.....

Where did you hear/read this, or are you just making shrewd guesses?

(It's about what the GOP did in 2007-8, when they saw the financial crash coming.)

Praise God, enough Americans recognized that it is better to fight amoral tyranny they rejected than to fight amoral tyranny they invited via a "deal with devil" such as a vote "against" Obama at the price of voting FOR pro-abortion, pro-homosexual "rights," pro-environmentalist agenda, pro-government-run health care, pro-activist-judges Romney.

Totally agree. Electing Romney would have set conservatism immeasurably back. We'd have had the same crap foisted upon us -- only delivered by GOP-E republicans (sort of like they are doing today in Congress). The liberal chess players near successfully set us up to be left holding the bag. We dodged a bullet and I am grateful to every red-blooded, God-fearing, Constitution-loving, American patriot who had the good sense and unwaivering conscience to cast a vote for a genuine conservative on the ballot instead of Romney or Obama.

I think it would be best for conservatives, i.e. those believing in limited government, to begin de-coupling from the GOP. It is clear that the elitist trash running the party are ready to join hands with the socialists in the Democrat Party (let's not kid ourselves - there aren't any moderate Dems left) to pass lousy legislation that will do great damage to this country. Better to stay clear of the stupidity so you can more ably make a case for conservative policies than it is to be in the middle of that oncoming train wreck created by the GOPe and Dems.

“Both RINO Bush presidents — by utterly failing to articulate, defend and promote conservative policiesy — guaranteed the two most devastating electoral outcomes in America’s post-World War II history: Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.”

That wasn’t a bug, it was a feature.
