Thousands of demonstrators were expected in Washington and New York on Saturday to protest the killings of unarmed black men by U.S. police and to urge Congress to protect citizens.
Organizers said the protests would be among the largest over police tactics and the killings of black males by officers in New York, Cleveland and Ferguson, Missouri.
The lack of criminal charges from grand juries in the New York and Ferguson cases have galvanized protests around the United States.
"We need more than just talk; we need legislative action that will shift things both on the books and in the streets," civil rights leader the Rev. Al Sharpton, whose National Action Alliance is heading the Washington protest, said in a statement.

"Give a hoot. Don't burn and loot!". "Hand's down, pants up!" No? Don't think you'll see either of those signs anywhere?
Let’s print some of those up. And the best one, of course - ‘A mother shouldn’t have to worry that her son will be killed when he robs a store’ - or whatever that wonderful sign was. Let’s flood NYC with them. Half the protesters cannot read or won’t care what they hold while they tantrum.
How about the lack of criminal charges when these mobs, manipulated by outside agitators, closed down important urban areas and major highways?
I wonder if they’ll also address the many, many more blacks killing other blacks for simply being disrespected?

Aren’t they/won’t they be interfering with folks conducting business? Would someone be able to sue calypso louie and al not so sharpton or the naacp for loss of revenue based on their normal Saturday intake? Surely nobody will be handing out this little tid bit:

It`s ‘Pants up, don`t loot’ accompanied by the following hand signs; grab your pants, pull them up and then make an L with the left hand`s index finger and thumb, and close it with the right hand.
I am going to visit NY in a few weeks and all these protests had better stop before then. I don’t want a bunch of malcontents ruining my vacation plans.
Time for a massive blue flu outbreak through out DC and the surrounding cities.
Regardless of color, race or sexual orientation, any cop, who risks his/her/its life/body and financial status by being a cop during these protests is an idiot.
What legislation is that? That African Americans are immune to arrest and prosecution? That police can no longer investigate African Americans? Or are you saying that when the police, who are run by Democrat unions, encounter a Democrat African American, and an altercation happens that you must blame Republicans and Independents because they weren’t involved and they must be held accountable for the Democrats internal problems?
If you bring crime down in the African American communities, these sort of altercations will cease. Al Sharpton does not want to deal with the real heart of the problem. He wants to show boat instead
All these protests have been taken over by the Anti Capitalism crew same as the Global Warming

To the Afreakin American: Just keep exposing your culture of bile to the nation, the knockout game, Ferguson, NYC, beating old vets to death and other random crimes of excessive violence. It won’t be much longer when even the ignorant liberal establishment will run out, or just tire, of making excuses for you and you’ll be left with no more artificial support.
Whatever was in it for them, you’re quickly taking away, they’re leaving you. The nation at large grows weary of you, your baseless excuses for failure and your culture of depravity. All you’ve proven is your love of self and everything wrong, along with your absolute inability to take care of yourselves without help. Even with help it’s not enough - see “Somalia.”
Perhaps soon we can quietly execute proper societal countermeasures. The media won’t dig you out of the hole. Everyone sees through your manufactured, morally destitute, intellectually vacant excuses and the Nielson ratings you generate will feed your own backlash.
