Police: Homeowner Shoots Person During Break-In Attempt

Breaking glass and an arm reaching in through the busted window led to an early morning shooting in midtown Topeka, according to the homeowners.
Officers found the person, who was not identified either, a few homes away, 317 SW Clay, and suffering from several gunshot wounds. That person was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

This is Topeka, Kansas. Quite often, liberals claim that owning a gun for protection is silly and ineffective.
But local events continue to prove them wrong.
Side note - the DA has a history of not charging the homeowner with anything...not even discharging a firearm in the city. In fact, the DA got caught trying to smuggle a gun into the courthouse for his own protection. His name is Chad Taylor - the Dem who quit the senate race so the faux moderate could take his place, because he couldn't effectively fund raise for himself. My theory has always been that his pro 2nd amendment stance made him unpalatable to the DC rat crowd.
I predict no charges of any kind will be filed here either.

My boy is only 7 months old, without the ear and tail crop, but already weighing in at around 50 lbs. Cadbury (chocolate, ya' know) is 100% Doberman and keeps guard quietly and effectively. He is friendly to our guests, but passersby tend to walk on the other side of the street. I have taught him to be "silent but deadly", and he doesn't growl, just glares.
Lions would eat too much!
