As other comments on this thread have said, I taught ALL my children to not make sudden moves around police. I have also taught them to leave their hands on the steering wheel until the officer has approached and verbally and visually recognized what they are doing. I also teach them to tell the officer where they will be reaching for the registration, license, and insurance I.D.

What a schmuck DeBlasio is.

I was mistaken for a wanted kidnapping/murder suspect once. It was intense but de-escelated quickly.

I was backing out of a parking space and suddenly had a gun in my face and a cop screaming at me to stop the car. I complied and and asked to put the car in park and shut off the ignition which I did carefully with my left arm out the window. I ended up in cuffs face down in the parking lot till things got sorted out. I was on my way home in under 20 minutes.
