"The [National Association of Manufacturers] program, which emphasized that throughout the world there is evidence of 'an inglorious retreat from freedom,' placed the association on record as expressing its belief in freedom; its approval of the inseparability of free enterprise and good government; opposition to cartels; a belief in sound currency and opposition to the use of taxation as an instrument for social and economic reform."
It sounds like the Manufacturers might have been reading the recently published "The Road to Serfdom." I'm afraid the public will not heed the words of the NAM any more than those of Hayek. Government certainly won't.
