Egypt held its Badr 2014 military maneuver between October 11 and November 6, its largest exercise since 1996 which was only half the sizeaccording to a senior security expert the Nile state has its sights on Israel, despite the peace treaty.
Col. (res.) Dr. Shaul Shay, former deputy head of the Israel National Security Council, detailed the maneuver in Israel Defense on Saturday, analyzing the massive military preparations.
According to Shay, Egypt wants not only to improve security domestically, but also it hopes to reassert its historic leadership role and become the regional hegemony. With the rise of (President) Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a new generation of military leadership in Egypt has taken control of the countrys armed forces.
The security expert continued: Exercise Badr 2014 and the creation of the RDF (Rapid Deployment Force) signals a move toward enhancing Egypts more offensive, conventional, asymmetric and counterinsurgency capabilities both within and beyond the countrys borders.
Speaking directly about what that means for Israel, Shay noted that the exercise is meant to prepare for a potential conflict with Israel.

we need to end all foreign aid of all kinds to most of the world if not all of it
Psalm 83 coming down the pipe....
God be with Israel always!
When did Egypt acquire nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them? And thermonuclear weapons?
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
more likely it is designed to be able to control Libya and other nearby countries.
if Israel is attacked the Aswan dams get turned to ash.
How things have switched 180 degrees with Obama. We used to make sure these two stayed at peace. Under Obama it’s falling apart. Obama will go on record as the great divider, the President who ruined the world
“we need to end all foreign aid of all kinds to most of the world if not all of it”
Foreign aid is not generally money. It is credit that can be used to buy American weapons. This is a lot of things, among which are keeping the defense industry alive, making our weapons cheaper to acquire by increasing production and corporate welfare. Also, in theory, it gives the US government leverage. But this leverage must be used with subtlety rather than the nailed club that our “nuanced” Obama uses it.
Psalm 144 as well.

Crossing the Gaza would be worse than sending 10,000 men fight 300.
it is money, even if it is credit
a prudent commander trains for all contingencies.
Gaza is also accessible via the Sinai
Folks can think what they want, but I find it very hard to believe that Egypt wants an unbridled PLO on it’s doorstep.
Israel is a great target to take their wrath out on, and Egypt isn’t going to change that any time soon.
I suspect that they’re just talking through their hat here.
Egypt wants to appease the Muzzies, but their real enemies are the Muslim extremists and terrorists.
No, Obama certainly doesn’t approve of that, but he hasn’t any leverage with Egypt, after betraying them again and again.
I seriously doubt it’s aimed at Israel.
Psalm 83 NIV
A song. A psalm of Asaph.
1
O God, do not remain silent;
do not turn a deaf ear,
do not stand aloof, O God.
2
See how your enemies growl,
how your foes rear their heads.
3
With cunning they conspire against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.
4
Come, they say, let us destroy them as a nation,
so that Israels name is remembered no more.
5
With one mind they plot together;
they form an alliance against you
6
the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites,
7
Byblos, Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
8
Even Assyria has joined them
to reinforce Lots descendants.[b]
9
Do to them as you did to Midian,
as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
10
who perished at Endor
and became like dung on the ground.
11
Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12
who said, Let us take possession
of the pasturelands of God.
13
Make them like tumbleweed, my God,
like chaff before the wind.
14
As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15
so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.
16
Cover their faces with shame, Lord,
so that they will seek your name.
17
May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.
18
Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
Yes but Psalm 83 is still a future ME war and specifically mentions the upcoming 1st coalition to come against Israel.
Hagrites refers to the Egyptians specifically.
So noted.
CC
And ishmaelites refers to muslims in general. Most interesting.

Why is that?
