The Senate race will be the main attraction of the night, as we wait to see whether Landrieu can retain her title as a political survivor or if Cassidy will become seat number 54 for Republicans in the next Senate class. Having won two of her three previous elections through runoffs, Landrieu’s campaign continues to express optimism that she can pull out another surprise victory this year.
The last time Landrieu faced a runoff in 2002, she was widely expected to lose the contest. But in the final days of the campaign, a late-breaking story fueled rumors that the Bush administration was considering increasing sugar imports from Mexico, a policy change that would have had damaging repercussions for Louisiana’s sugar industry. The story helped to shift the momentum of the race. This year, Landrieu’s campaign is looking to a late-breaking story alleging that Cassidy may have been paid for work he didn't do as a part-time professor at LSU as a possible equivalent of the 2002 sugar story.
Whether or not the new allegations against Cassidy will register at the polls remains to be seen, but regardless, the facts on the ground in 2014 paint a very difficult, if not impossible, road to victory for Landrieu.

Bush pandering to Mexico and Landrieu opposing is the polar opposite of where she is at now.
Pryor, McCaskill, Sanders, Harkin, Landrieu and some other Dems voted against amnesty in 2007.
All I know is she has no TV ads running at all.
Cassidy is crucifying her every night with his campaign ads which are very negative, guess she won’t spend her own money on TV spots.

Good riddance to another leftist who always tried to be all things to all people. Calling her state out by saying it was filled with racists and sexists to make them happy. Supporting the Keystone pipeline to keep the oil donors around and appease the right. Her luck has run out and Louisiana voters will run her out of the Senate tonight.

I think the amounts were to the tune of 20 thousand dollars and the dispute is over whether he truly worked or not or was he just present as an available advisor to resident physicians in the University Hospital system. Time sheets and paper work can get confused in these University hospital systems and attendance and documentation can easily get messed up. So do an audit and have him pay back anything he wasn’t owed....I don’t think he was conspiring deliberately to steal the Taxpayers blind! I’ve had mistakes made where I’ve had to pay things back...it can happen!

There is a pro-life ad that I feel is the MOST IMPORTANT AD of this election.
It is the ad that shows the Ryuns (husband and wife) talking about the birth at 24 weeks of their daughter (very premature).
They press home the point that the baby had a soul and was such a fully formed and viable baby at 24 weeks.
The ad ends saying Mary Landrieu is too extreme for Louisiana.
Additionally, the ad says that Mary Landrieu supports PAINFUL late term abortions...
The LSU Medical System has information from tests online (MRI, ultrasounds, X-Rays, etc). Additionally, with the possibility of SKYPING, it can be a very interactive session.
Finally, the ad by the Landrieu campaign is very low quality.
At the end where the most significant attack occurs, the voice on the ad does not match the movement of the lips on the speaker.
This is a very AMATEUR ad by the Landrieu campaign.
Mary is apparently in very DEEP DO-DO from the early voting.
Polls are only open from 7am to 8pm and I am sure that the football games today will keep some voters away -- if nothing else because of traffic jams (Christmas shopping will also cause traffic jams).
In terms of helping medical students, that can be done at a distance provided information is online.
I know someone who is going into radiology as he can work from home once he completes residency. The test results (X-Rays, sonograms, MRIs) are all online.
For example, in cardiology, the EKG can be looked at from a distance, and even the noise of the heart can be transmitted to a doctor at a remote location.
There is a need for someone at the hospital, but someone like Cassidy can supplement the Medical students, interns and residents with suggestions from a remote location.
This is the age of SKYPING.
Finally, the Cassidy campaign claimed that there are LSU residents in Washington, DC that Cassidy worked with.

Seen dozens of Cassidy ads in NOLA since the election, only 2 or 3 for Landrieu.
Guess they figure they have the black vote here and want to make sure the large black population in Shreveport turns out big.
There’s always the NO vote. Maybe 250% of registered voters and all vote Democrat.
If the dam*** Republican party would have just thrown a few dollars to Virginia, they’d probably have 55 Senate seats......and while Gillespe isn’t a committed conservative, he’s a far cry from the lib Warner........
