He's both a very good shot and lucky.

I have to ask “How did the cop know he was shooting the right person from a hundred yards away?”
I’m more impressed with his eyesight than with his marksmanship.

Jesse Jackson, he lay low.

I would only guess it was because the nut was shooting a rifle in downtown Austin, not hard to see that from 100 yards.

Nice one-handed shooting! [I wonder how much range time he got before that great shot - probably a lot, regularly.]

Maybe he had a description of the guy’s clothing and it was obviously him. But I have to admit I’d want to be 100 percent sure he was the perp before I pulled the trigger.
To: jazusamo
Did you catch this: “returned fire at 2:33 AM”. That is NIGHTTIME!!!
To: jazusamo
We used to shoot an IPSC stage called "Ol' Eagle Eye".
Several trios of standard targets worked you to a doorway where, 100 yards downrange, was a 12-inch stop plate.
The stage had a maximum time of 2 minutes - to keep people embarrassing themselves too badly.

Yes, I wondered why the photo of him was at night and then read the time. Really amazing.

You can’t tell if a guy is shooting a rifle from 100 yards? Time for an eye exam.
It’s a good shot, but not astounding. I used to shoot my Ruger Mark III 22lr at the 100 yard range. I could hit a torso sized target about half the time, albeit with two hands and not holding a couple of horses.
