Arizona's 2nd District: Challenger Martha McSally (GOP) clings to a 179 vote lead against Ron Barber, the incumbent, who is still finding missing votes.
Louisiana's 5th District: Jamie Mayo, the only Democrat candidate with 28%, faces a Saturday runoff with Ralph Abraham, who garnered 23% against a crowded GOP field of six candidates.

Arizona's 2nd, unfortunately, is a different story as the recount drags on.
In AZ, Dem Ron Barber is losing every appeal to count “illegal” votes. We may win this one.
The cheating Dems should be arrested!! I am FED UP with the lying, cheating scumsuckers!
Martha McSally (R) leads Ron Barber (incumbent D) in the AZ 2 Congressional race by 161 votes. A mandatory state recount begins today and must be completed by December 15th. All of Barber’s challenges have been thrown out.
The dems still think they can cheat, but McSally & Co. is auditing the whole process
We are so ahead in the House that it doesn’t matter about AZ 2nd. We don’t need it. We have the largest amount of GOP members in the House since WWII. One little House Race will not make a speck of difference.
But assuming we win the 2 LA districts, winning in AZ would give us the most since the 1920’s
“It doesn’t look good for the RATs pulling out either contest in Louisiana considering that the top of their ticket, Mary Landrieu, is currently 24 points behind the challenger.”
I hope you’re right. In Laouisiana’s 6th District, former Dem Governor (and convicted felon) Edwin Edwards is trying to mount a comeback. He led the primary - but that was against a divided GOP field.
I hope Louisiana voters don’t go to the polls and think “Ah, Edwards is a good ol’ boy. Sure he ended up in prison but let’s not hold dat against him” - and end up voting for the guy as a joke of sorts.
We had the same kind of crap happen up here in Minnesota - in 1998 when we elected Jesse “The Asswipe” Ventura as Governor and back in 2008 when we elected Al Franken to the Senate.
“One little House Race will not make a speck of difference.”
Well, it just might make a big difference to the people of the second district in Arizona.
Louisiana voters are nowhere near as dumb as Minnesota voters. That's why even their RATs make noise like conservatives on occasion.
But if the Rats win by cheating e.g. finding new ballots all marked for the Democrat, in the truck of a car, then it does make a difference. It sends again the signal that Rats can win any close election, just count and count until the Rat wins, then stop counting.
It seems that the Republicans are holding fast on this one and not letting “newly found ballots” be counted. That sends an important signal to everyone.
Well perhaps they should have gotten those Republicans who didn’t vote to get off their butts and vote next time so that it is not close. And yes there were probably a huge percentage that didn’t vote and yes they were Republicans.
Are you sure? Pima County is a large Democrat stronghold.
But I am not going to argue with such an obvious expert as you on Arizona voters.
Let’s take a guess here: Barber is down 179 votes. That means there are 180 missing votes that he’ll “discover.” Then, of course, no further recounts will be necessary.
And in the 5th CD the Dem got just over 28% with the Lib and Grn getting
about 2% total. I don’t see the GOP losing either race in the 5th or 6th.
if i lived in that district, it would make a difference to me... and it would matter to me if one side won by cheating--"finding missing votes."
And you know this how?
that is not how it works... you do not punish one side just because of all the potential voters who did not vote... if that side got more votes, even just a handful more, then they win... you cannot make people vote... sometimes the vote will be close... that does not make the outcome less important... especially to those who did vote...
