U.S. President Barack Obama voiced optimism on Wednesday that a government shutdown can be avoided in coming weeks, pointing to comments from Republican leaders of Congress who oppose a budget showdown.
Obama said there are enormous potential areas for compromise with the Republican Congress, mentioning tax reform, trade and paying for infrastructure projects that would create jobs.

Make Barry shut it down. Make him do it!
Make Spiteman Obama shutdown monuments. Make him own any shutdown.
Listen to the crap this guy spouts: If Congress would pass the law I want I wouldn’t have to break the law. His law breaking is Congress’ fault. And Congress sits there and takes it!
Just amazing. If the government is going to be shut down, it is going to be shut down by Obama, not Congress.
But the media doesn’t care.
FUBO. FUGOP. I’m done with Republicans. They won’t get another vote of mine. We need a “Free Republic” party.
But, but, we’re told a shutdown would only hurt Republicans. So, wouldn’t Barry be for a shutdown?
But off course he is encouraged by the spineless wonders known as the GOP elite. They won the election but Barry is beating them like a drum.
A shutdown hurts no one.
1. Every government employee will be paid through the end of the year.
2. Who is going to national monuments in December?
3. Government pretty much shutdown after Thanksgiving, so who really cares?
If ever the NE Media Elite, and the DC Cocktail crowd was out of touch, this would be it.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.[Posted on 11/19/2013 12:16:51 PM by Third Person]
What is the truth about a “government shutdown”. First: the government is not shut down. The size and scope of the “shutdown” is limited, and essential services continue. Second: there is no threat of the government defaulting on its debts because of a “shutdown”.
I just threw up on my shoe.
If hussein hadn’t written so many checks to our enemies and spent to much on his “unaccompanied” illegals, there would be plenty of hard earned tax dollars to keep the country running smoothly.
