Possible case of Ebola reported at MGH (Massachusetts)
The Boston Herald's Boston Bulldog ^ | December 2, 2014 | Lindsay Kalter

A possible case of Ebola is being reported at Massachusetts General Hospital. Here is the hospital's statement:

Suspect Ebola Virus Disease Patient at the MGH

"At 2 p.m. today while undergoing routine monitoring by the Boston Public Health Commission, an individual, determined to be a person under investigation for Ebola virus disease, was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital for evaluation. As you know, the MGH has spent the past several months preparing in the event we should have a patient with suspected Ebola come to the hospital. The individual is now in a specially prepared area within the hospital. Diagnostic testing is under way. Again, a diagnosis of Ebola has not been confirmed.

As always, our focus is the health and safety of our patients, their families and our staff members. We want to reassure you that the hospital is safe. Even though it is unconfirmed that the individual has the Ebola virus, we are taking the actions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a precaution. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available."

The hospital then linked to a site of frequently asked questions about the Ebola virus.

Here we go again, Ebola du Jour.
I think the Whitehouse is stunned and dissapointed that so few Americans have caught it. This was supposed to be a major Prunning Tool to remove excess population.

The reporter that broke this story is likely in BIG trouble. Obama was clear about no Ebola reporting.

Wonder if it was that volunteer from Maine who insisted she was Ebola-free and broke an imposed quarantine?

And only in Commie MA would a hospital phrase it in police state language:

".. person under investigation for Ebola ..."

Tha PR esidet wants 6.2 billion bucks of our money to spend on African Ebola. He threatened additional isolated cases in this country possible (but failed to add the miniscule part). The threats to get their way, no memory of yesterday or or what they say.

We won’t hear about this on CNN, 24, 7, cuz the administration has told the media to shut up about ebola.

Actually, in the medical profession, we use that kind of language. We investigate things, much like police officers do, to get to the underlying truth. Except for us, the truth is something medical.

I’m a researcher. Typically, the head of a research lab is called the “principal investigator”, or “PI” for short; the other researchers are “investigators.” You see this kind of language in medical journals all the time.

A vaccine may never be available. Ebola has to be stopped at the source... the faster efforts are made to stop it, the better. There have been many Ebola outbreaks; none have ever lasted this long, because every previous outbreak was identified quickly and measures to stop it were implemented immediately. This outbreak festered for months before anyone figured out what was going on, and so had a chance to spread and become very difficult to stamp out. A vaccine would be nice, but is not essential.

Actually, I'm very glad that the media is growing bored with Ebola. It complicates efforts to contain Ebola when the media is busy spreading nonsense about the disease, like the idea that it transmits through aerosols (it does not) or that it causes organs to liquefy (it does not), or any of the other idiocies I've read about it. Every time one of those sensational untruths about Ebola is trotted out, the people who are trying to deal with it are put into a position where they have to explain to Congress and others the real facts about Ebola--which wastes valuable time they could be spending actually dealing with the disease.

What exactly do you mean by “police state language” and why would you infer that MA is more inclined to use that type of language than other states?

Your post makes no sense.

When the ebola clinic was looted and infected items spread ....the chance of containment....was inhibited.

The word ebola has been banned from all emergency radio com.

This admin......could have stopped the letters...planes....bushmeat....but they didnt.

A red cross van with ebola samples stolen is still missing.

oh well
